I really like the noise level; its just perfectly quiet just like they said. It doesnt take too long to fill the tank and its very compact and easily portable. It does build up a lot of heat while running but not to the point of being extreme. The instructions were fairly good. The unit I received had one issue that for me, was easier to fix than return. The pressure regulator was not screwed on tightly and had a very slow leak. I had to take the cap off the regulator remove the engine wires and the air supply line so I could remove the regulator. I put some Teflon pipe tape on the big pipe and replaced all the reverse order. It wasnt a big job but you need some mechanical aptitude and some tools to accomplish. I would have given it a 5 star if not for the regulator issue. If you are not mechanically inclined, send it back for a replacement.

The compressor works well. Gets up to pressure quickly. I did measure the decibels from ten feet and I got 67-68 db on my phone decibel meter. So certainly not 60 db But definitely quieter than the standard compressors. Mine did not say to not use an extension cord. Though others have commented on this. So be cognizant of this. I use mine in one location right next to the main power outlet.

My buddy has the steel version which is super quiet but a bit heavy. The lighter-weight version seems to be just as quiet while also managing to be significantly lighter. This thing is awesome. Yes, its worth the extra cash...youll love it and, because it doesnt beat up your ears or back, youll use it more than you can imagine.

Super quiet. Lightweight. Fills quickly. My kid, the engineer, said to buy this one. I agree. Perhaps a few dollars more than the cheapie brands, but this critter hums. Literally hums.

Great little compressor. This is perfect for my application. It’s a permanent fixture in my go kart race trailer. It’s super quiet and supplies all the air I need at the track to keep up with three karts. The generator (3500 watt Champion), doesn’t even sure when it kicks in. Easy to set up. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Everything worked as expected right out of the box. It fills the tank in just over 2 minutes. I replaced the quick couple at the tank with my own 25 foot hose with quick coupler on the end. I turned the pump off and was gone for over two weeks and when I came back the pressure was exactly where I left it (no leaks). The compressor is pleasantly quiet as that was a primary objective for me in replacing my old unit. A little more expensive than some units but as long as it holds up over time I feel it will be worth it.

I have 2 smaller California Air units and was very happy with their performance. And extra happy with their quiet operation which was a priority. For this location I need more air capacity and went with the 8010A unit. Just as quiet. Also happy that I went with the aluminum version. The first time I used it was with my impact tool to take off some stuborn lug nuts. It is not Factory Air but good for what I am doing. I love California Air. I have always changed out the Quick Disconnect on the regulator. I just pefer a different version. Be careful not to overtighten any new nipples at the regulator. it is plastic and it will split.

I used one of these at the track and liked it so much I bought my own. Very small footprint, amazingly quiet and the pressure is terrific for setting the bead on tires. Great deal.

Havent used it on a a job yet , however it is very quiet and easy to move / pick up . Its half the weight of my old compressor with slightly greater capacity . I will review again after I have some run time with it .

I just purchased a new decibel meter from Amazon to test some of my power equipment noise levels. When I got my new California air compressor I was anxious to see how close to the 60 decibels it actually was. Well upon first running the compressor I noticed lots of rattling noise coming from it, and when I used the meter is was registering it at around 84 decibels from about 8 ft away - this is where i placed it in my work shop. Bottom line it is not anywhere near 60 decibels. ( I wish it was) But you still need hearing protection when it it running.
