> 3 dayCalifornia Air Tools 8010A Aluminum Tank Air Compressor | Ultra Quiet, Oil-Free, 1.0 hp, 8 gal is a wonder! After nearly 30 years my Craftsman 10 gallon air compressor/tank unit finally bit the dust and I needed a replacement. Based on reviews from around the net I chose CAT Ultra Quiet for the lower sound level. I dont need hearing protection, can even talk at normal levels when it runs, and cannot hear it when other power tools are operating. Amazing! So, why the meh number or stars? It has several major flaws: • Although it has a wheels and a handle for pulling along the floor, the handle is much too short. CAT should have left it off and reduced the price. • As pointed out by others, having only three points of contact with the center of gravity relatively high makes for an unstable tool prone to knock-over if not protected. • Finally, and most important, CAT decided a cutoff valve at the air outlet was too expensive. The hose remains pressurized until the tank is emptied, an unnecessary and unsafe condition. This reason might be enough for me to send it back as defective. Bottom line, it is a good air compressor but major design and safety flaws makes reality a far cry from the hype.

> 3 dayUpgrade from a small 3 liter tanked compressor to reduce noise. Using for airbrushing. Having a big tank has cut down own the motor running constantly. The motor is quiet for an air compressor. Not as quite as the one I was using before, but not too loud either. Build quality is solid. We will see how it stands the test of time.

> 3 daygreat product very well boxed with doubled walled carton outside and the unit was packed in the same manner (Ive worked in shipping and warehousing) so thats a plus for me. Compressor worked fine. Welds were very good. Maybe this is because I bought the 1080A not the steel model. I dont weld but I know a good weld when I see it) California Air has the quiet and rapid refilling compressor you should defiantly want to buy had a drain valve with a loose stem, not sure what to do? other than that I am completely happy the California Air Tools 8010A You cant go wrong with this compressor

> 3 dayEverything worked as expected right out of the box. It fills the tank in just over 2 minutes. I replaced the quick couple at the tank with my own 25 foot hose with quick coupler on the end. I turned the pump off and was gone for over two weeks and when I came back the pressure was exactly where I left it (no leaks). The compressor is pleasantly quiet as that was a primary objective for me in replacing my old unit. A little more expensive than some units but as long as it holds up over time I feel it will be worth it.

> 3 dayThis compressor is so quiet that it could be a medical unit. It takes as long to reach pressure as my old ten gallon, which seems weird because its so small. This isnt a complaint... I love it. I will put a different handle on it, tho. Maybe taller wheels, too.
