With out any question this is the quietest compressor I have ever had. This thing fills quickly and is very pleasant to work around. Sounds like a sewing machine. Really nice.

I bought this compressor to engrave with a GRS GraverMax G8 (compressor on their website is $400+)*half the price, same specs*. Works great, holds psi, no leaks, not loud. The only thing was a small retainer of some type was broken by the air filter so I wasn’t able to hook up one hose. Didn’t affect the performance. Recommend a dryer of some sort as any air compressor will have some moisture.

Can hardly believe how quiet it is compared to my old pancake compressor. Ordered Thursday afternoon and received Sunday afternoon via US Mail which was hard to believe. Item was well packaged. Manufacturers decorative box with pics and info was inside a heavier weight cardboard box providing extra protection during shipment. Good instructions and easy assembly. Im already putting it to use today.

Replaced a same-size/psi compressor that cost half as much but was so much louder I could stand to use it with my garage door closed (or without hearing protection). This one is sooo quiet that you really can stand right next to it and have a conversation at normal speaking volume. SAVE YOUR EARS!

So, I bought this compressor to replace a noisy old oil based Harbor Freight compressor of about the same capacity. This one might have a slightly smaller tank but they were about the same overall dimensions. The harbor freight model was SUPER loud, but you get what you pay for I guess. This compressor is such a huge difference. Its a little quieter than my washing machine when its on and is very nicely built. Its oil-free, so it depends on friction modifying surfaces to keep the parts moving. These might wear out eventually, but my use is very light so Im not in the slightest bit worried. I bought the aluminum version and its extremely light!! When the box arrived, I was shocked at how light it was. The only draw back compared to my old compressor is the recharge rate is definitely slower than my harbor freight compressor. It takes a good amount of time to recover the tank pressure when doing things like using a blower attachment (prob a minute or two). But for less demanding applications, its a really nice unit!

I can be on the phone next to this thing and you hardly even know its running. I would definitely spring for the aluminum one because its so light! makes moving it from workplace to workplace a breeze.

Ive been spending more and more time in my garage doing woodworking projects. With that comes lots of dust and lots of finish nailing. My cheap 3 gallon pancake compressor from Harbor Freight worked fine for the nailer, but it was not good for blowing dust off saws and out of the garage, it just didnt have enough volume to handle it. Plus, it was LOUD. So, recently after I spent several hours listening to that loud machine run, I decided enough with it and hopped online and started searching for quiet air compressors. The California Air Tools options were consistently recommended and the reviews supported those recommendations. I must say, I see why! This thing is AMAZING. It is just a hair louder than the compressor on my beer fridge. It is so quiet that I dont even notice when it kicks on unless Im standing right next to it. It was super easy to put together, just throw on the wheels, front rubber piece, and the air filter which is more of a muffler, and it was ready to go. Its not heavy at all an maneuvers very easily. I have a retractable hose reel, so I keep this under my workbench and wont have to move it much. All-in-all, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone else who is tired of loud air compressors!

I purchased the aluminum version. It is light, well built and so quite. I can have a phone conversation right next to it while it is running. I love it. Worth every penny.

Since over time every compressor i had rusted out i decided to get the Aluminum model and im very happy with the compressor. Its very light for the 8 gallon size and when i fired it up in the house, you could have a normal conversation while its running. My last series of compressors were ear numbingly loud , This is a very nice unit and i highly recommend it!
