> 3 dayBought this to blow out swarf while milling. Its very quiet and does not take up a lot of space. No leaks and air volume is sufficient for my uses. Definitely wont fit the needs of larger and noisier compressors, but use your head to select the proper size for what you want it to do.

> 3 dayPurchased this compressor in Dec 2018 . The compressor motor burnt up this week. Only used it about 30 hours per year so the estimated use is about 120 hours. The advertisement states the unit life is at least 3,000 hours. The unit was always stored indoors never abused. A replacement motor sells for over $300 including tax and shipping. The unit sold for $330 delivered. Watch this YouTube presentation of how to repair the motor. California Air Tool Compressor Failure and Repair Judge for yourself.

> 3 dayAfter one month of use I can say that I am very pleased with this compressor especially at the price I got it for here, which was $238 with tax. It is, as advertised, ultra-quiet, even quieter than the little Senco hot dog compressors. It also draws less current when running compared to other compressors of a similar size and is quite a bit lighter than other two tank compressors. We will see how long it holds up but it seems very well built. I do finish work and we are currently finishing the first of three large houses. This compressor is usually driving two or three brad and/or finish guns all day long and seems to easily keep up with the demand, recharging quickly enough to prevent the pressure drop that happens with other compressors when firing a lot of nails rapidly. You dont have to wait for this compressor, which is good since you often cant even hear it. If you are a professional and looking for a new compressor for your finish crew, one that can keep up and that you dont need to hide in a closet because of the noise this is the one you should get.

> 3 dayFirst impressions are that it exceeds the advertised specs- and more importantly why I bought it. The unit came securely packaged and double boxed. I mention this as a Hitachi that I had gotten from Amazon a number of years back. Amazon being Amazon handled that situation well, but it was a relief having this one pink and perfect. The Porter Cable 6 gallon that this replaced , served me reasonably well. Though the first one on that and its replacement developed leaks within a month. Should this one do the same, I will update my review. I still have the old Hitachi- and it doesnt leak a bit. To start with, the noise from every other small compressor Ive had is simply rude compared to this little gem. Not only does it run quietly, it performs well. The old PC was starting to draw more amps as it aged. This runs off a nice 5500 watt inverter, but when the 8.5 AMP cold start draw eventually turns into 12 and change, it is time to take the stress off. This one currently pulls 7.4 amps all day long. I opted for the aluminum tank as I am one of THOSE who doesnt drain his tanks as often as I should. I dont spray with it , so Ill be doing well to drain this once a week. You know what the other steel tanks looked like when they were drained. Rust. This is actually close in size to the PC as well. It nestles in the same frame as that one. Bonus. Update June 2022 Shes still running as new after much use.

> 3 dayIt will not power an air tool, the air depletes very quick and would not recover fast enough. Good for projects that do not require cfm.

Greater than one weekCompressor is very quiet and has enough pressure to run 2 trim guns at the same time or a single framer. The compressor I received has a rattle that comes from the brass regulator tube, this would not be noticeable on most compressors because it would be droned out by the motor. I bought this because I have young children and am doing some remodeling around my house and my full size compressor is much to loud to have running in garage. I originally bought this after hearing a friend of mines and couldnt believe how quite it was. Compressor is not silent but is quite enough to have running inside the house with family sleeping (note:work is still getting done compressor is usually one of the loudest things on job site after saws). Silly to say but I think it calms the feeling of a job site because there is no violent screaming of a compressor in the back ground, radios do not have to be as loud and voices do not have to be raised to talk over it. Aluminum Tanks are awesome to avoid rust from forming inside tanks and spraying out when emptying tanks. Also, is light for how sturdy the machine is. I will never cheap out on a compressor again.

Greater than one weekShockingly quiet, I can run it with the kids napping 2 rooms away. Plenty of air for my needs (drawbar on a cnc mill, and a coolant system). Very compact as well.

> 3 dayNot ultra quiet. I dont have a decibel meter, but I do have ears. I really cant fathom how the CAT compressor would be advertised as ultra quiet. I have a oil lube Jun Air that I would call ultra quiet, the California Air Tools compressor noise level far exceeds that of the Jun Air. The California Air Tools compressor is about as loud as loud talking with of course a more annoying tone. I needed some oil free compressed air, so I guess this will do until I can find a used compressor that really is ultra quiet and fits my budget. If you are short of money and time this is an option if you temper your expectations.
