> 3 dayI was hesitant to purchase this air compressor given the other reviews, but had friends who swore by California Air Tools compressors. They are by far the quietest compressors I have ever used. I decided to purchase this compressor anyways, and it worked very well at first. After 25 days of owning this compressor and only using it a handful of times, the metal pipe that connects the tanks to the inlet and on/of controls completely sheared while installing baseboards with a 16 gauge nail gun. Needless to say I am completely livid and disappointed at the quality of this product. As much as I appreciate the quietness of the compressor, I would never recommend purchasing anything from California Air Tools. Save your money and spend it on a more reliable product.

> 3 dayThis is my third CA tools air compressor and it is so quiet I can not understand how I lived with my old noisy compressor for so long. I used to have to wear ear protection using my old compressor and eventually gave it away to my neighbor. Now I know when he fills his tires - the whole neighborhood knows. All three CA tools compressors work great - no problems yet. The low noise is truly worth the upgrade. I wont buy any other brand.

> 3 dayBought this to blow out swarf while milling. Its very quiet and does not take up a lot of space. No leaks and air volume is sufficient for my uses. Definitely wont fit the needs of larger and noisier compressors, but use your head to select the proper size for what you want it to do.

Greater than one weekLove this compressor. I will never go back to old and noisy compressors. extremely quiet, exceed my expectations if it comes to noise. hose adapters are solid, easy to attach and disengaged the hoses. Only the drain valve stick out of the bottom tank little farther then I will like, but ball valve is a big plus.

> 3 dayWe bought this compressor to replace a truly super quiet AMS compressor that is not oil free and pumped a lot of oil. I suspect we burned a seal in the AMS from the get-go because it didnt have enough capacity to close an automatic drain valve on a piece of equipment and ran for hours when it only has a 15 minute on 15 minute off duty cycle - it was so quiet we didnt hear it running in our back dungeon room where we kept the typical cheap compressors to reduce the deafening noise. I dont want to trash the AMS, it is a very nice unit but can have this problem. While not as incredibly quiet as the AMS, this one is so much quieter than the usual cheap compressors that we can keep it in the work area without it being a distraction and doesnt need to be relegated to the back dungeon. It makes it easy to drain and track problems if it is cycling too often, and has enough more capacity that it will close the (small) auto drain valve at startup. We have only had it for 3 weeks, but so far works nicely.

> 3 dayI purchased this unit to replace a well known American name brand 6 gallon pancake compressor. The noise reduction is amazing. You can barely hear it running. This will be a tremendous benefit when doing inside jobs such as a rehab or working in a small workshop. In addition to that, the unit seems to be well constructed and I hope it provides me with many years of service .

> 3 dayI am disappoint on investing in this product. It stopped working a few days ago and it was purchased 23 months ago barely used throughout the months). Another issue that bugged me, was its claim on noise level, while it was quieter than most, its noise level fluctuated quite a bit. In the first few months it maintained its quite level, than it soared to higher DBs and could barely handle being used with two guns. If you do decide to continue on with this product, do purchase an extended warranty, otherwise it is not worth the EFFORT.

> 3 dayPreviously had a Porter Cable 6 gal pancake compressor. If you were within 20 feet of it when it kicked on it was loud enough to put you through the roof. That is one of the reasons I chose the California 4610. I had several other problems with my old P C compressor till the tank finally rotted out much sooner than it should have. The California 4610 has aluminum tanks and a drain valve that is very accessible and a dream to operate so blowing out water buildup frequently is simple. Ive been using the 4610 continuously for over two months now and I have absolutely no complaints. And, they are not kidding about it being quiet. You can stand beside it and it doesnt make much more sound than a loud hum. I rarely rate tools or equipment because you really need to give something a good long term workout before you are qualified to give an honest review. So far I believe this one is a winner!
