I found this product very useful in printing cardstock postcards and company flyers in color.

I bought this printer about 3 yrs ago for $30 at Wal-mart, and at the time I thought maybe I should buy a all-in-one instead. But now Im really satisfied with this product. I guess whether the product will continue working is dependent on users using manner. I think Canon has some very good products. I bought a printer for about 3 yrs, a copier for about 2, and both still work properly.

As soon as I opened the box I removed the printer and set it up. I immediately discovered that the paper tray was detached and broken. I then tried to print and found that the flashing yellow light indicated a problem that could not be repaired. I had previously owned two identical printers, and wanted one just like it. The manufacturer has discontinued the model, which is why I purchased the used Canon printer. The previous two Canon printers that I had owned had the same problem. I took each of them to two technicians and both of them told me that they could not be repaired. Why did the seller send me a printer that did not work from the beginning? Of course I had prepaid for my order, using a credit card. When I reported to the seller that the machine was not working he quickly offered to refund my purchase price. We had been communicating through the Amazon e-mail process. I waited to receive the sellers check and nothing happened. When I inquired he then asked me to return the nonworking printer and THEN he would send a refund. I complied with his request. I wrapped the printer carefully and sent it by UPS immediately. When I tracked UPS I learned that it was delivered to the owner at his home. STILL there has been no response from the seller, and no refund! I have documented all our correspondence.

This printer prints quicker than the printer it replaced, however, when it pulls paper from the tray, its quite noisy. The print quallity of color photos are not as good as expected. For a low-price printer, this one is OK.

Great little printer for the money, but the cartridges do not last very long. They offer larger cartridges, but theyre pretty expensive too. When I went back to the store to get more ink cartridges, I realized that buying a new printer (which comes with cartridges and a small pack of photo paper) was about $4 less than buying the replacement cartridges. I felt a little guilty since its such a waste of resources (environmentally speaking), but thats Canons stupid fault for pricing things the way they have. Do they really think were not going to notice that the replacement ink cartridges cost more than we paid for the printer? Corporate America doing what it does best...wasting money. Had the two cartridges cost $25, I would have saved myself five bucks and gone on with my life. So I reluctantly bought another printer for $30 instead of paying $34 for the two little replacement cartridges. How could I not? That said, Im not the type to keep buying printers and putting them in closet or throwing them in the dumpster, so Ill be looking for an alternative soon, preferably from another company...but for the meanwhile, this one does the job just fine. Its just the principle that puts me off. Everything about the printer is great...looks awesome sitting next to my iMac too.

Simple. Easy to set up and use. Noise not too bad. Start up a bit slow, but it is an ink jet.

I bought this printer recently, and every time I print anything it feels like Im chugging a mountain dew while snowboarding down the Rockies on a snowboard thats actually a lightning bolt, and its as if someone transplanted the Rockies into some extreme combination of Disneyland and the worlds largest half-pipe, with girls in bikinis cheering me on at all sides, and theyre all just shouting my name and telling me how great I am for picking such an awesome thing to print and we all cant stop drinking mountain dew but theres an endless supply so its okay.

Hi, i was faithful to Canon printers, this was my 3rd canon printer... I hated Epson printers cuz since long time ago, the epsons automatic features and ink level sw were not accurate... this was the main reason why i have been faithful to canon printers... but not anymore, i had s200, ip1500, now this one... and seems to be that as others say, there are chips in each cartridge, and my original black and color cartridges are no longer recognized by the printer, the printer sw says there is no more ink, but there IS still ink left.... I guess canon become very greedy... shame on you canon... i was so loyal to your brand for nothing...

The first one I received didnt work right out of the box. A new one was sent which is fine. It is an attractive unit, however, in order to keep a supply of paper in it, you must open the top and front for operation which spoils the looks. I dont use it too much, so I just keep paper elsewhere and keep the unit closed.
