Caran dAche Classic Neocolor II Water-Soluble Pastels, 15 Colors

Awesome crayons. Easy to use, they are soft on paper, the colors mark well. Love using water with it and making my drawings complete.

The product was what I wanted for my project. I like how you can add enough water to make the lines disappear. But my order arrived with many of the tips broken off, which was a bummer. I kept them because I had already waited a few days to finish my project.

Ive had this set for about 8 months. I think of them as a bit of a luxury because they are, after all, crayons, but the watercolor application of them is magical to a novice like myself. I like that they can be sharpened to a point for fine coloring, then wet with a paint brush to use either as watercolor paint itself or directly on the paper turning it to a creamy, richly colored substance that is lovely to use. Someday Ill treat myself to the next bigger size of these high quality crayons.

This item was included in a wish list for Santa, prepared by a budding water-color artist. Since I am not a user, I really cant do an in-depth review for this item.

As a face painting medium, I highly recommend these crayons. They are less expensive than professional paints, NON-TOXIC and can be used without water. However, I encourage you to use them with water - they glide on the skin much easier. (I dip the crayon in water and dab off the excess water on a paper towel.) To top off whatever design you paint on the body, I use a waterproof eyeliner to give it definition (recommend Stila stay all day eyeliner). Everything washes off with soap and water. Perfect to use at any event, but especially at children-oriented birthdays, etc.

They arrived broken. Total bummer since these are not inexpensive. Save yourself the heartache and order from an actual art supplier instead.
