05-04-2025I was so shocked this year watching this movie to find out my husband had never seen it! He was surprised by how much he enjoyed the movie. It is such a classic at this point and will forever be one of holiday season must watch.

> 3 dayThis movie is okay for background noise while you bake sugar cookies and decorate for Christmas. The Kranks street was beautiful at the end when it was snowing and all the houses were properly lit and decorated (which is the theme of the movie.) Very lightweight and totally predictable from the beginning. Mr. Krank is a type of modern day Scrooge or Grinch who transforms from old curmudgeon to compassionate and thoughtful neighbor, but to me there was no real impetus for him to do so. Everyone gathered round with happy holiday songs, as is typical of many Christmas tales, and each person put aside their own prejudices to make Christmas happen. But people dont change that easily. I had the feeling he was back at work griping at his secretaries the next day. The magic of Christmas. I paid $1.99 to rent it, but it was hardly worth the money. I say to krank up some nice Christmas music instead, if you want to set the mood.

> 3 dayEvery Saturday we do family movie night. Each December we pick different Christmas movies that we haven’t watched yet. Kids are 10 and 14. We chose this one on Amazon prime this year, and it was quite boring for all. Some laughs at silly parts by my 10 year old(when someone fell on snow) but wouldn’t ever choose to watch again. Surprised to see it was made in 2004. Felt more like a 90’s movie.

> 3 dayI finally watched this movie which has been maligned for years. But, I found it to be a heartfelt, quirky and love-able Christmas movie with a message. Tim Allen plays a man who convinces his wife, wonderfully played by Jamie Lee Curtis to skip and ignore Christmas in lieu of his dream Caribbean vacation. Well, life disrupts his plans when their daughter decides to surprise then with her fiancée for Christmas. The movie starts with the Kranks pissing off everybody form their neighbors, the police, the tree salesman, etc with their message of no Christmas décor, tree, party or celebration. The latter half sees those same people come together to help the Kranks slap together a home Christmas for their daughter who is beloved. Dan Ackroyd, Cheech Marin, and M. Emmett Walsh have solid supporting roles

> 3 dayA Christmas favorite. The harsh reviews....really? It is fantasy and fun based off a fictional book. Lighten up. This movie has a ton of humor and extremely Christmasee to satisfy that longing we sometimes cant find. With the snow, the lights, the family plans, etc. Although the entire kid and letting the crook out of the cop car and robbery scenes were odd and didnt really fit in the movie. I love Tim Allen he is a part of our Christmas tradition in this movie as well as the Santa Claus series. Hes just truly a funny, great actor. Jamie Lee awesome in this as well! The tanning scenes are off the charts and can not believe she did that scene I am cracking up just thinking about it! Sit back with a spiked egg nog and enjoy! Merry Christmas!!
