> 3 dayThis movie is okay for background noise while you bake sugar cookies and decorate for Christmas. The Kranks street was beautiful at the end when it was snowing and all the houses were properly lit and decorated (which is the theme of the movie.) Very lightweight and totally predictable from the beginning. Mr. Krank is a type of modern day Scrooge or Grinch who transforms from old curmudgeon to compassionate and thoughtful neighbor, but to me there was no real impetus for him to do so. Everyone gathered round with happy holiday songs, as is typical of many Christmas tales, and each person put aside their own prejudices to make Christmas happen. But people dont change that easily. I had the feeling he was back at work griping at his secretaries the next day. The magic of Christmas. I paid $1.99 to rent it, but it was hardly worth the money. I say to krank up some nice Christmas music instead, if you want to set the mood.

> 3 dayDVD Comes in standard plastic DVD case. There are no special features on this version. Quick Synopsis For the first time, Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora’s (Jamie Lee Curtis) daughter, Blair (Julie Gonzalo) was not going to be spending Christmas with the family. Luther decides to book an expensive cruise for Christmas; the only catch was he and his wife had to commit to a total boycott of the holiday season. This really disturbed the seemingly Christmas obsessed community and some neighbors took it a lot harder than others. After nearly making through the holiday, of course Blair calls on Christmas eve and decides to surprise her parents by flying in. Will the Kranks be able to pull off a miracle Christmas for Blair? Will the neighbors forgive the Kranks for their lack of holiday enthusiasm? I guess you’ll have to watch and see = ) Opinion I think this is one of those movies where a lot of people don’t appreciate it the first time they watch it. I know I didn’t love this movie when I first seen it. I happened to catch it on TV the following year and I couldn’t change the channel. I have watched this movie several times now and I grow fonder of it every time. Yes, it’s a goofy / silly / and over-the-top Christmas movie but it’s also cleaver and meaningful at its core. Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen are the perfect duo and they really make this movie shine. Also, I am not a big Dan Aykroyd fan but I loved him in this movie. Thanks for reading my review. I hope this is helpful to you.

Greater than one weekAm I the only one who noticed that this was a remake of the Dr. Seuss classic? Theres at least one scene lifted directly from the childrens book. This is one of my all-time favorite Christmas stories. I love the tension between wanting to celebrate Christmas (or not) your own way versus wanting to give joy to others. Krank (the Grinch, get it?) wants to avoid the stress and nonsense of Christmas and goes overboard, trying to reject the whole holiday.
