A MUST HAVE SHOW for your kids!!! We love it!!! And it has sparked a general love and interest of poetry among our children. :) I could do without the comments of the children between poetry. I wish they just wouldve added more classic works of poetry.

Really a great addition to the Classical Baby series. Our two-year-old loves watching it. It gives us something to talk about and interact together when watching.

Great illustration, music and poem! My 2.5 yo son can rarely focus on one DVD for too long, but this one just kept him interested from the beginning till the end. Money well spent.

My kids love the Classical Baby series. It gives them a greater appreciation of art, classical music, dance and poetry. I would recommend to all parents to have in their collection.

Love, love these. We had these taped on our DVR from HBO for years and then switched cable systems and lost the shows. I bought these when we had baby #2. Lovely and educational!

This is a very educational and entertaining poetry from HBO. My 2 years old love it especially the Grassy grass grass. This is the only DVD that she would sit still and watch from start to end. We like it too! I would recommend this to every parents. You would not regret it.

my 14-month-old has been watching this video since about 6-months of age, whenever i cut her nails. it was also the only thing that calmed her down when we had to give her masked breathing treatments for an acute illness at 6-months. she absolutely loves the brief kids interviews and even favors one particular girl and boy; she gets giddy whenever they come on. i find the short interviews (several seconds; up to 1/2 minute maybe?) to be wonderful transitions and good pacers. the children actually seem quite bright. i talk to my daughter about the video while cutting her nails; she has actually learned a lot of receptive language from the interactions. my husband and i really like the variety of poetry and animation, as well as the different voices performing/reading the poetry. very well presented. we really, really, really, wish there were more poetry videos to come. we also have the set of 3 (dance, art, music), but this one has always been the most captivating for our daughter.

Young children are instinctively drawn to the sound of rhyming words and the rhythmic cadence of poetry. Add colorful animation, music, and footage of real elementary age children, and Classical Baby has created an appealing half-hour program that encourages an early appreciation of poetry. Produced in association with The Poetry Foundation, Classical Baby: The Poetry Show is a compilation of 13 favorite poems from poetry masters like William Shakespeare, John Keats, Woodie Guthrie, and Gertrude Stein. Famous personalities including Gwyneth Paltrow and Susan Sarandon recite poems like Elizabeth Barrett Browning"s "How Do I Love Thee?" and Robert Frost"s "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening." William Carlos Williams reads his own "This is Just to Say" while Hoagy Carmichael performs Johnny Mercer"s "Skylark" and young children recite poems like William Carlos Williams" "The Red Wheelbarrow." Poems are accompanied by bright animation that"s highly appealing to children and many are followed by brief comments from elementary age children. Some preschool and elementary-age viewers will be transfixed by the entire production while others will pick and choose the segments they find interesting, but what"s most important is that every young viewer gains exposure to the art of poetry. --Tami Horiuchi
