21-11-2024A necessity for drilling holes for water supply/drain pipes for a new bathroom vanity that had a solid plywood back. I was skeptical right at the beginning of the first drill when I smelled essence of pine from the plywood, but slow, steady pressure saw the job through. Even when I moved from the back to the front side where there was a nice, finished veneer surface, the drill cut through with perfect holes with a fine finished look. The only drawback was that no instructions were included with the package, and being a novice woodworker, I managed to get the job done without destroying the finished surface of the vanity, (Thats the only reason I gave it 4 stars.)

> 3 dayOk, certainly for the price. Does what I needed though doubt it would last long with regular use.

> 3 dayFor this price, youre not getting a precision tool. Its about the quality Id expect from Harbor Freight--where you should never buy something that plugs into an outlet. I needed to cut into some ~1/8 thick plywood backerboard on an entertainment center. My 12v makita battery-powered drill just wouldnt make the cut. But my plug-in variable speed drill did the trick. The cutters arent great, but they work on non-precision, low demand cuts. I would be very surprised if you could cut through a 2 board. Id buy again, but only for the limited use cases relevant to this lower quality and lower price.

> 3 dayI needed to cut a couple of large holes in fir. They worked, but they dont seem like theyll be able to cut too many more. I doubt theyd cut hardwood well.

> 3 dayIt seems like a cheap set thats made in china of the cheapest metal. The case wont latch properly so expect everything to get loose and tumble inside. This is a classic case of You get what you pay for. I needed to drill some holes in ABS plastic junction boxes, drywall and plywood every once in awhile and it worked fine, hasnt broken yet. The saws stayed attached to the drill and did not come loose unlike other cheaper alternatives, however I do not anticipate them to handle your more heavy duty jobs or consistent use. For the money spent and the verity you get, it could be worth it.... I probably wont buy it again.

> 3 dayDepth of circular attachments doesnt exceed 1/2 in. Also drill bit is poor, needs to be replaced with one thats pointier.

> 3 dayThis is a nice collection of hole saw sizes. The attachments are solid and fit well together. The assembly for a particular cut is easy and the hole dimensions are precise. Hoping that the description was understating the material, I tried to cut through a maple desktop for a new 2 grommet to access additional peripheral computer wires. The cutting was laborious as the wood was dense and very hard. It took about four minutes to drill the one hole. I stopped repeatedly to clear the hole of the ultra-fine sawdust and to cool the hardware. One interesting note, the depth of the 2 saw-bit was too shallow to allow a full cut through the desktop. The maple is a true 1 hard-rock maple. The 2 drill bottomed out. I was able to crawl under the desk and, using the pilot hole that had penetrated, finish drilling the remaining 1/16 from the bottom. The description from the seller is accurate. The hole saw works great on soft material -- plywood and sheetrock are easy. I should have given it a 4.5 because I was influenced by my own off-label task.
