Used to make a replacement part for a lid that broke when dropped. I had to trim down to .147 from 3mm and worked like a charm. I am sure I will find many uses for these rods

Wow, I wasnt sure what to expect when I ordered these brass rods, but I was really hoping for some good rods to use for making rivets. I dont know why, but I seem to struggle with finding good quality brass wire for rivet making -- its always so soft that its nearly impossible to form a rivet head without deforming the whole thing. These rods are absolutely perfect for what I need, so Im really happy to have found them! Judging by the feel of the hardness of the 1mm rods, these DO seem like 1/2 hard brass. I wont really know until I actually make a rivet, but Im optimistic, because I cannot easily bend the 1mm rod with very light pressure, which is often the case with almost all the wire I get, which has a soft temper. Overall, these look good -- they dont have a great finish (its OK, but its not jewelry-quality), so whatever youre using them for, expect to do some sanding and polishing if presentation matters. I have no problem with doing my own finishing, especially for the price of these. One final note: pay attention to the length! The 50 piece pack ranging in diameter from 1mm to 8mm has 100mm length rods. These are NOT very long. For me, this is actually ideal, but depending on what you need, it may not be, so keep that in mind.

I’ve tried to find something that would work well to attach with solder to a stained glass piece for a plant stake to use in a flower pot! These worked great! A great size without having to cut them, affordable and they took the solder well! I’ll definitely be buying them again!

I have been looking for a solid Brass Rod to use as a roller when I am working with polymer clay. This 5/16 Brass Rod was a good size and I was able to cut it in half as 6 inches is more comfortable to work with. So now I have 2 to use. The weight of these rods is great, so dense and solid. I also liked that it comes in a case that protects it when not in use. It works beautifully for rolling out clay and smoothing out joints so they are smooth and seamless. The length of 6 inches is easy to manage and maneuver. I know this is described as for use in making knife handles. So I can’t comment on the rods performance for that purpose. I can only let you know it works great for my purposes.

This rod is easily machined for threaded rod, bent to various shapes for jewelry or other forms, soldered or brazed, used in making knives, used for model building and it even shines like gold when polished. (note the two rods were not sent, but the ½ inch rod was substituted.)

Not sure of the alloy percentages, but the brass is strong and stays straight. Got it for knife scale pins and tool making.

For the price, you get quite a bit of brass rods. Perfect for any hobbyist who needs brass rods. No issues with quality and they come in a nice hardened plastic box, so nothing is bent or even slightly bent. All nice and straight and clean!

Every now and then you get surprised at a product that goes so far above your expectations. This set of brass rods is one of those experiences. The precision and quality are far above other similar products I have had before. There are no knicks, dings or rust. It is simply the best it can be for an amazingly low price. Add the bonus of a very unique and functional storage container rather than the usual plastic zip bag and Im over the moon happy. If you use brass rods in your crafting, work shop or machining area, this is a great deal. Im planning on using these in my windchimes and garden metal art. Im very, very pleased with this item and would give it ten stars if possible.

This measures 12x0.5 so its exactly what I expected and needed. The ends dont have burrs. Nice piece of metal.
