First of all, I had not looked at these for quite awhile, because, up until recently, they were out of my price range. There was a time when a 500GB SSD would have been $500 or up. When I found this one on Amazon for $89.95, I just sat there for a moment with my mouth open...

I bought two of these for some older Haswell cpu laptops. The Acronis software that you download from the Crucial site is easy to use. You just click on tools then next click on clone disk. I had some minor problems because I had reformatted one of the hard drives. I just did the whole process over cloning and all and this time it worked. The software gave an alert that it would proceed as usual in spite of the formatting the first time- on the second clone it didnt give the alert. Quirk fixed I guess. Try restarting it before you resort to what I did. Long programs like CAD software now boot up in seconds rather than minutes. Battery life has increased by at least an hour each. Like new machines! Maybe Ill wait for Sunny Cove!

I copied the drive on my laptop to the Crucial drive and when I installed it, it would not boot up. Recopied, same thing. Will end up using only for data backup. It was my hope that it would speed up my laptop.
