> 3 dayIve had this for a few months and I can say its a really good buy. Even better when you buy it on sale. As you would expect of a Gen 3 NVMe, this thing allows you to boot OS, start applications, do file transfers at really fast rates. ^_^

02-04-2025I got this to install into my Framework laptop DIY edition. Unfortunately it does not seem to be compatible, so I put Addlink S70 in its place. This SSD drops out when the Framework laptop resumes from sleep, causing the OS to crash. Long press of the power button brings it back. However this SSD works in my desktop as a game drive.

> 3 dayI purchased the SSD based on the claimed spec and performance. After fitting on a new i5 desktop system, I ran a few disk testing utilities and found that the claimed performance is way exaggerated. Its about 50-70% of the numbers claimed. I am not a gamer and dont need intensive I/O so, Ill move on. Next, I do need and use Encryption. The drive claims to have hardware encryption. I am an IT pro and do use managed FDE in the real world. This drive was for home but still, I use encryption. I tried to encrypt with a new install of Windows 10 pro (latest built). It would only encrypt using Bitlocker in software mode. In other words, not using the claimed hardware encryption. This is theoretically slower. I did about 4 hours research and called and chatted with Crucials tech support and found it to be useless. They refered me to documents I had already read and did not understand the issue. I tried 3 different calls and two chat sessions, aweful experience. I know that Windows 10 disabled hardware encryption by default a year or so ago but I also know the workarounds using GPO. Nothing worked, Bios was set for UEFI, and a lot of other settings and registry changes made. Result is not to use HW encryption on this hardware, Even if I got it working, I doubt its reliability and sustainability. For now, Ill keep the drive but will never buy Crucial products again.

Greater than one weekIve had this running in my system for a while and the best thing you can say about a hard drive is that I literally havent thought about it since getting over how fast it was. Its stable and fast. Very happy.

> 3 dayI put this in a new, custom ITX build. Its on an MSI b450i Gaming Plus Max motherboard with 32GB Crucial RAM and a Ryzen 3 3200g. Installation was easy. Its mounted under the motherboard, so I added extra fans to circulate the air. Again, this is squeezed into a custom case. Before adding the fans, I was reaching about 70 degrees, now I max out at 64, but stay under 60 most of the time. Since this was a new build, I didnt have to transfer data over from a previous drive. I have the 500GB version paired with a 1TB mx500.

06-04-2025At first I didn’t think this ssd would make a difference in my laptop performance. When the ssd got delivered, I installed it in my laptop. Install was easy. I then did a speed test, after I had set everything to be working, and man, there was a big difference in speed. My laptop is now booting in seconds. Games load faster. The whole Windows os feels faster. I really recommend this ssd, it’s worth the 60$

> 3 dayUsing this drive (my first M.2 drive) to manage the videos captured by Blue Iris Security software. The SATA drive I was using lagged a bit when the software was trying to write video from three different cameras at the same time. This M.2 drive writes 5 times faster and has no issues with pretty much anything I throw at it. Yes, there are faster M.2 drives but for the great price I paid for this drive, Im very happy. Comes with a 5 year warranty. I have four Crucial SATA drives and have used them for years and no problems. I trust Crucial and put them in the same reliability category as Samsung. The drive was very easy to install (physically) and I used Macrium Free imaging software to copy the OS from the existing drive to the new M.2 drive. Easy peasy.

> 3 dayTrue Image from Crucial copied install perfectly. Pretty quick, havent run any benchmarks, plenty of others have. It does run a bit warmer than the old drive. Storage Executive is well made, allows for monitoring and adjusting of some drive parameters.

> 3 dayThis is a very fast and reliable SSD, but be aware it runs hot. IMO a heatsink should be included with this drive, because it gets very toasty in normal day-to-day operation. I bought a cheap heatsink for 10 bucks and now it runs dramatically cooler. Ive owned it for about a year now and have had zero issues. Solid buy recommendation assuming you have a heatsink.

> 3 dayRead / Write speed is very good for this price and longlife time. Recommended.
