CTEK (56-304) Comfort Connect Extension Cable, 8.2 Feet

The idea is great if the cable would keep working. It failed after minor use since purchased December 9 2020. I dont see anyway to get a replacement on my order page. Im not asking for a refund, Im asking for a warranty replacement for this extension cable. It will not work when used. The CTEK MXS 5.0 works fine when not connected to the extension cable otherwise it goes into a flashing green light which indicates no connection to the battery. Bad Extension Cable . I would give CTEK a good review if they would warranty their product but I see any way here on Amazon to get this cable replaced. Its only $12.00 but it should work longer than 2 months. Ben UPDATE CHANGED FROM 1 STAR TO 3: I added some CRC Technician Grade Dielectric Grease to the ends of the cable connections. It has been working fine now. Could it be that simple? Yes it could. I have used the CRC product many times on electronic connections with great success. Time will tell. Still a little disappointed that the cable failed in the first place. They need to review the end connectors and if necessary note the need for a dielectric grease if the cable fails. Back to one star. I know it has been a while but I really dont use this extension much. Over the past several months this product has been working on and off. It seems to have some sort of short or the connectors are becoming defective. I cant say this product is good.

This is a great extension and you will need this unless you plan to run your unit on the ground with an extension cord which would actually cost more than $10 OR you have one of those super clean garages with no kids stuff piled up all over and the car is nowhere near being pointed right at an electrical outlet. Mine was about 3 feet short so Id have to banjo the cable across our bikes and risk it getting knocked off.. This did the trick. I just wish they went ahead and included this in the original kit because youre going to need it. I give it 4 starts because its a $1.00 cord that costs $10 so the value isnt great.

This cable extension is a must have if you have a late model corvette and you want to be able to close the rear hatch completely. The cable that comes with the Ctek charger is to thick and causes the rear trunk on the corvette to pop up and I think long term storage on fiberglass that would be bad. The extension cord lies flat and you can actually slide it in the gap even with the rear hatch fully closed. Well worth the good price.

Not too much to say here other than if you need an extension cable for your CTEK battery tender this will do the trick. If you appreciate the quality of the CTEK battery tender you will likewise be happy with the cable. I works wonderfully for us.

Completely happy. Needed to charge Porsche in carport as not driven often as I am retired. Keeps the battery fully charged and ready to go.

Worked great for storage of car during winter. No need to keep hood up anymore when charging. Able to keep car cover on all the time during winter.

I was a little disappointed that the wire used is pretty stiff for the duty. Im a little concerned that flexing in service here will lead to premature failure. It hasnt failed yet (too early to tell). I was expecting the wire conductors to be the same more flexible materials used for the maintainers, and its definitely different. It may never be an issue, depending on how many disconnect, hang the cable, then reconnect cycles it has to endure in my service. The product is perfect for keeping the battery on my 599 fully charged. Anyone who knows; you don’t want a dead battery on a 599. Easy to attach clips to battery for temporary use. But for long term use the hard wiring is easy to attach to the battery using a wrench. Then just plug it in and leave it alone. Very easy disconnects allows for driving without accessing the battery. I also bought the 8’ extension for extra length around the exhausts and I have the unit wall mounted using the mounting holes on the unit. I have my other Ferrari’s on theses units as well. I highly recommend them for use with the high energy draining modern Ferrari’s. Plus, they extend battery life significantly.

needed extension cable for battery charger/maintenance...no problems...extension cable doesn’t impede charger/maintenance process.....

Works with both of my CTEK chargers and makes them more convenient to connect in the garage. The wire, however, is unusually stiff and almost awkward in this application. It is much stiffer that typical stranded copper or stranded copper-clad wire, almost like solid wire as it holds shape when bent or coiled.
