> 3 dayI bought this monitor to replace 2 10 year old 21 1080 dpi monitors. I was concerned there wouldnt be enough real estate on the 34 curved monitor. I had nothing to worry about. The images displayed were smaller due to the improved resolution but they were so crisp they were easier to see. I just finished a 10 hour day staring into this monitor and suffered no eyestrain. I didnt have to turn my head as much or as often to see the information, resulting in no neck strain either. I use this monitor for business, not for gaming.

06-06-2025i’ve had this monitor for about 4 months now. it’s still working fine and i’ve had no issues with it. pros - pretty good image quality for it only being 1080p on a 27 inch. obliviously if you are big into having this crisp clear image you give some of that up for the size so make note if you want to be able to see tiny details to invest in something with a higher quality. but it gets the job done and still looks pretty good. - the size is something to get adjusted to if upgrading from a smaller monitor. the curve adds to your overall gameplay. i found it to be more immersive and give me a different feel to the games i already play. - the color is good and gives you many options. a lot of the monitor can be adjusted in its settings so any issues you find can already be fixed on your own. -you can easily adjust the height of this. sometimes it can be a bit hard if you want to do a small adjustment but that doesn’t bother me. -no dead pixels or any screen ghosting. i’ve had this monitor left on the same image for hours and have seen no burn in. as well as no random dead pixels anywhere. - very smooth. even just scrolling on any random website looks smooth so with games it makes it feel like you got a new pc too. cons -a lot of the darker tones can be washed out. after messing with the color settings for a while i still haven’t found the perfect mix of brightness that doesn’t sacrifice any darker colors. it doesn’t bother me that much but note that if you want a bright screen know you sacrifice a lot of the darker tones for that. -any smaller words such as typing a paper or any reading is sometimes difficult to see. i wouldn’t recommend this for someone looking to do work for long hours. this is alright if you want to do mainly gaming and occasionally maybe homework but if you need to read small text just stick to working on a laptop. -the monitor doesn’t turn off on its own. (this is more of a personal thing but i wish there was a setting where if there was no input that the monitor could automatically turn off. - can’t really angle it up or down. you can slightly put it at an angle but you can only really move it up and down. - i figured this is a given since it’s a monitor but it doesn’t include speakers. you’ll have to buy your own speakers if you want to do anything without headphones on. overall this monitor gives out more than the price point it’s put at. if you’re looking for an affordable monitor that still offers a good/smooth look and size go with this.

> 3 dayI almost returned this monitor, as the picture quality was garbage when gaming, with significant blurring and color bleed/smearing with any kind of motion at all. It took me a while to realize that this monitors response time just isnt good and doesnt work well with Freesync. So, I enabled MPRT for the response time, which automatically disabled Freesync (as it should), and all those above problems went away. With my current GPU I get 85-100fps running with the 144Hz refresh rate, and dont experience any screen tearing at all, and with MPRT enabled its a very smooth experience. Id expect with my upgraded GPU (on order) that Ill get near 144fps to match the refresh rate and it will improve all that much more. I dont know if this experience was specific to me and my build, but just sharing my experience for any out there struggling with the advertised quality of this monitor.

> 3 dayI love Dell products so this is a hard review to write. But, I am just so disappointed with this monitor. The display was never stellar, but it seemed to be OK for what I needed. As I began using it with Linux, however, it fought me tooth and nail for compatibility (something Ive never experienced with Dell in the past). Between a lack of documentation at Dell (which admittedly does not profess Linux compatability) and an unusual lack of even forum support for dealing with resolution issues on this model, it was a nightmare of tweaking and holding my breath. It should NOT be this hard to get a monitor to play nice with LInux. The button controls are awful, ridiculously UN-intuitive and their integration with what you can set/change from the desktop is just not up to snuff. It seems to me monitor vendors need to make up their minds about whether they want their devices to be plug-and play or annoyingly customizeable only through advanced manual dexterity. I bought this is October of 2022 and I am literally throwing it out today in February of 2023 because the screen is apparently broken. Ive had a lot of monitors over the years and this is a first - Ive never had a screen break on me. I use my tech a lot, but am not by any stretch of the imagination physically hard on it. I had a curved monitor once before and found it fragile but it NEVER broke on me - in fact I gifted it to a business associate during COVID and they are still enjoying it. The entire right side is of the screen is taken over with spider webs and the bottom half is like someone added a gray overlap on top of the screen. I am assuming constant use of the button controls must have stressed the screen, but who knows as this point. I have a couple HP monitors I will replace this one with and manage with dual screens instead of a single curved display - cheaper and FAR more manageable.

> 3 dayIm moving up to this display from a 24 1080P Dell I purchased in 2007 as a secondary display. My current primary is a 4K 60Hz 42 TV. The S3222HG is very nice. The curved screen is more marketing but STILL offers slight enhancement advantage as long as your head is at the focus of the curve. As a secondary display AND my PC on the left side of the 42 and the Dell being on the right side, the 6 foot cord is inadequate. I need at LEAST 10 more. Ill need to get a 10 foot to get the cord off my desk. One other small nitpick is the stand is so-so. My old 24 Dell stand is excellent. It has a more stable footprint and it is able to swivel and raise and lower. The S3222HG stand can not swivel. I plan on 3D printing an adapter piece so I can use the old stand. Otherwise I am happy with the display for the price. Paying the little extra for 165Hz, mostly for infrequent gaming, is a nice enhancement.
