The light has a flat stable base that keeps it from getting knocked over. Swivel head makes it easy to us hands free. I have used this to light up the back yard, work on cars and general handy work around the house. It is nice and bright and have used for at least three hours continuously.

I melted my first one in a burn pile inadvertently, and it still shined bright. This is my favorite flashlight by far.

I was really happy to get this flashlight. I have used it in at least 2 power outages and it never drained a 5 AH battery. One outage I probably had it on for at least 12 hours. I wanted a light that I could easily have enough battery capacity to last for 2 or 3 days if needed and this is the one. I like that I didnt have to buy yet another type of battery and could just use my power tool batteries.

I just received. I thought it would be a weak light but happily its really a bright light! And with my many dewalt 20v batteries ......this emergency flashlight should last a very long time....and save on the actual purchase price over 2 years for me, on buying triple A and double A batteries over and over again ....so I am happy about purchase.

This is the 20-Volt light that was elusive as a single item at the local home stores. Amazon to the rescue. Came quickly, works perfectly. Ive use both the compact and Max (3.0Ah) 20V batteries. I leave it out in case of emergencies because Lithium Ion batteries have a great shelf life when fully charged. Have been slowly replacing a hodgepodge of corded and cordless tools with DeWalt 20V and buying some I didnt have like the Jig Saw. Some reviews have been a bit harsh on the 20V line, but it seems like theyre continuing to offer products and batteries. I went through so many Ni-Cad systems that were a disappointment before moving to NiMH which is was similar to Ni-Cad in technology but had 3-4 times the useful life. Current battery technology continues to make enormous strides, but Li-on really is the current winner. Who wants to make a huge investment in tools if the power cells are going to keep changing? Ive used a power inverter to charge on the go without any ill effects, so far. Its nice to have in the truck or car to charge all of battery operated toys we use today. In summary: I like the light, its bright, durable and should last years with the LED bulb.

Ive worked in many careers including as a home inspector before the great housing crash. I used maglite brand which have been the standard in flash lights for the past twenty five or so years. The flash lights worked fairly well but replacing four d-cell batteries Several times a week was expensive and wasteful. I switched to streamlite rechargeable flash lights which Were great quality but were also very expensive. The light lasted about four hours before I would have to plug in and recharge it. I needed about 6 to 8 hours of flash light use per day and having to wait for my streamlite to recharge was a bit annoying. I wish I had this light then! What a difference it would have made in my day to day operations. I have found that the light does tend to tip over if stood on end and positioned on an 45 degree angle. To remedy this I switched to 20volt 6ah xr batteries which are heavier and have a larger base. They even last a lot longer (over 8 hours) than the smaller batteries. If you truly need a great spot light for work or home, this may be the last one you will ever have to buy.

I work on vehicles a lot and a corded light always gets in the way or has trouble hanging in the right spot. This light is good because you can stand it up right or lay it on its side. Overall its a pretty versatile light. I also got a 6 amp hour battery to go with it and I can go a solid month or two before loosing 1/3 of the battery life. I also hunt coyotes and use this to light up the fields. Im no good at hunting coyotes, but when trying to hunt with a rifle in hand and also a flashlight, this one works well and is stupid bright. If you need a light, just buy this one. Ive done extensive research into good spotlights and this one is the best despite not even being marketed for that.
