DEWALT 20V MAX* LED Work Light / Flashlight (DCL040)

I had the 18 Volt light before. I prefer this one for a couple of reasons. First off, I have a 20 Volt drill and an 18 Volt dewalt drill. I got to the point where I was never using the 18 Volt drill and therefore quit charging the batteries. My drill was quite a few years old so the electrons basically quit moving and died. A charge would give me about 10 minutes of light. However, I use the 20 Volt drill all the time and was very pleased with the amount of light that this puts out. Also, I have dealt with dewalt on the service side before. They were super nice and basically reconditioned drill because the gears were getting nearly impossible to change from drill, hammer, and screwdriver. They fixed it without a charge and the service was great. I am to the point that I will only buy Milwaukee or dewalt products. This light was used about three times in my screen porch at night while doing a project. I have been quite pleased with the light! A+++

Led worklight works great. It stays working as long as 20v battery has a charge. Swivel flash light head is adjustable so you can sit the flashlight down and adjust at what your working on. I dont use it much but works well and highly recommended

Nice light, though its not as bright as other brands Ive seen. It does the job for me.

I originally used this light at my work’s shop. Decided to order one for myself. Good light for all sorts of jobs. I use it all the time. Battery life just depends on what size battery you’re using, but I typically put one of my 1.3ah or 2ah ones on it and it pretty much lasts all day, with more juice to spare. Brightness is fairly decent, however, for the most part, I’ve used this for more “close up” jobs where I didn’t need to light up a whole room or a larger area, just the area close to me. So on that front I cannot express whether it would be good for larger projects where you would need bigger areas lit up. Night vision (?) I have no clue, but I’ve used it to see things in dark basements, under vehicles at night, and in unfinished rooms with no live electric. In All of these instances, this light has proven its worth. I’m extremely satisfied with it.

I saw this at Home Depot over the holidays and almost bought it since I have a bunch of DeWalt 20V tools and batteries. Im glad I checked Amazon because it was about $20 cheaper. This thing is VERY bright. You know how you check the edge of a knife and then cut yourself because it is so sharp? Same thing here - I looked into this thing and it was downright painful. I doubt I will ever use the red light that is installed (I didnt even know it had one when I bought it). Maybe Im missing the point, but Id rather have four whites and no red. I cannot attest to battery life yet because I have not used it that much, but I suspect it will last quite a while on a full charge.

Any cheap flashlight from any box store beats this thing in brightness. What a let down.

Happy with this light! Compact body, lightweight, has plenty of brightness on the light output. Works great for what Im using it for.

This spot light is incredible. Much better than the rechargeable spot lights from Walmart. If your already in the DeWalt 20vdc lineup and need a spot light it’s a no brainer. If you are just looking for a spot light and don’t already have DeWalt 20vdc tools I’d probably look elsewhere as the cost of batteries and charges for DeWalt stuff needs to be accounted for as this is a Bare Tool.
