> 24 hourIts nice, but it came with low quality pieces to float-attach it to what youd like, and one broke during installation. Im a handy guy and know what Im doing, I wasnt careless. Still, it gets 4 stars because the number itself is a nice piece. The little hole you can see in the first picture is where the piece that broke would have gone. Even though that happened, Id still buy again.

> 24 hourUsing the stencils didn’t help us a lot, we had to move the numbers around some. One of the pegs broke on the 3, and we had to fix the threads on the number 2 because a peg wouldn’t screw in. Fairly simple other than that, had to make a run to the store for caulk because I didn’t read the directions first.

> 24 hourNumber is nice, but one of the screw holes wasn’t drilled correctly and we couldn’t use the hardware on it

> 24 hourLots of feedback and reviews complaining about the mounting hardware. Agreed that they are poorly made and flimsy, but for what they were designed to do - they work perfectly. Heres the trick... DO NOT tighten the mounting posts onto the numbers with a wrench. They WILL snap. Simply hand tighten along with adding a small drop of Loc-Tite or similar thread locker. Dont have that around, Krazy Glue or other CA glue will do the trick. This may not be all that necessary, because once the numbers are installed, there is no way to unscrew the posts when properly mounted into your wall. Drill the holes as described by the instructions, but before you do, mount your posts into the numbers and hold the numbers against each template. Manufacturing precision here isnt great, so mark where the posts actually hit on the template, rather than assuming the templates are correct. Your final 1/4 holes are large enough so that the posts will slide into the holes without any issue. If youre forcing these into your holes, go bigger. Then - caulk as instructed for a perfect mount.

> 24 hourVery nice. Drilling the holes into the wall wasn’t easy but definetly worth it. I love how the numbers look, the screws I received weren’t as flimsy as I thought they would be after reading some of the comments. I installed them myself and I do recommend if you are willing to put in the drilling work or have someone do it for you.

> 24 hourI had already bought #s from local big box store when I found these, it was the same brand maker but this style was just sleeker and cooler. Then to my surprise they were a whole 1-inch larger! ...the surprise was because the price was the same so the it went unnoticed & just assumed to be the same. Youre given 2 ways to hang the #s and the extra option is to use Floating Architectural screws that holds them out away from the surface about 3/4 or so and the effect is awesome, it adds dimension and shadows but not bad shadows that make the large, pure black numbers difficult to see. No, just really unique. Who knew there could be so much to say about inexpensive address numbers but these so deserve the praise.

My Two Cents
> 24 hourThese house numbers are very modern and sleek. I choose to use the floating vs flush mounting option. Its very attractive to see the shadows behind the numbers from the sun or porch light. I read the other reviews and two items were fairly constant. 1. The metal mounting studs easily break. 2. The template provided to drill mounting holes do not match the actual position of the metal studs. With that info, I very carefully screwed in the mounting studs for each number until they felt secure but not tight as I was afraid of stripping out or snapping the studs. I prepared my templates as instructed and then took each number with studs attached and lined them up with the template holes. Sure enough each number had a slightly different position from the template. I suspect that the studs are not perfectly straight so each turn of the stud moves them in a different direction in relation to the template holes. I marked each position of the real studs in order to get a proper fit. I followed directions and used a 1/8 drill bit, but stopped before using the final 1/4 drill bit. It just seemed that the 1/4 bit was too large and the same size as the collar of the stud that provided the floating section for each number. I decided to test fit the numbers and frankly it was perfect. Each number fit perfectly and because the holes were only 1/8 they provided some light resistance so that the each number would be held in place without any adhesive as instructed. Also I noticed that the collar was just large enough to hide each hole so it was a very clean look. I pulled out each number so as to wipe down the surface from the dust I created and sure enough two studs snapped off just before the collar. I was dumbfounded as I was pulling straight out and the amount of force was very slight. It looks and feels like metal but behaves like a cheap plastic thats brittle. The good news is that the place it snapped off left just a tiny bit of material so that it can still rest in the holes. I might fix it later but for now it works. I figured I would call Hillman Group to provide some feedback. The customer service person Katie was friendly and appreciated my comments but took no effort to ask for a callback number or email. She seemed disinterested and had no desire to fix the issue with me, even after I told her I would be writing this review. The home page for Hillman Group states Quality, Service and Innovation. Hillman Group has failed on all three.
