> 3 dayFor years I used cardboard for shims with mixed results over time (cardboard compresses over time). I bought these shims when my front door once again wouldnt lock. The dead bolt was hitting below the bore in the door frame. I removed the card board shims and replaced them with two of the EZ-SHIMS. The door locks normally again. I dont see the EZ -Shims compressing like the cardboard does. The only minor issue (really a non-issue for me), is that you will probably have to trim them as they are not the correct shape for most newer hinges. In order to fit the EZ-Shims in the hinge mortise for hinges with rounded corners, two corners need to be trimmed. That is easily done with a pair of scissors.

> 3 dayWorked like a charm on my front steel door. The house is settling so lower hinges had to be shimmed rather than resetting the striker plate.

> 3 dayMy front door latch assembly wasnt locking into the strike plate. It was just a tad too low. If I lifted on the doorknob, it would lock in place. The deadbolt was also not lining up unless I lifted the door knob. I first tried cardboard shims that I made, but that would only last for a week or two. I found these on Amazon, although I first ordered the wrong size. Front door hinge is 4 inches and I ordered the 3.5 inch. Not worth returning and I may need them someday. This morning I removed the cardboard from the bottom hinge, started the screws back into the hinge, folded one of these shims in half, removed the third part, and tightened the screws. Door closes and latches perfectly. I should have bought these 3 years ago.

> 3 dayWe have several sets of French doors across the back of our home and LOVE the indoor outdoor feel when they are all open. However, we have had issues with cold breezes blowing through the doors’ center gap in the winter months when the humidity goes down. These were an EASY FIX, and can be removed just as easy in the summer months when the humidity increases and the wood doors swell tight. So thankful we found this product! Huge energy savings compared to the low product cost and effort to add or remove.

> 3 dayHad local glass company replace several door and window glass panes. One door had integral molded polywhatever quarter-round stop instead of removable. So glass tech had to saw stop off; during this process he steadied himself by hanging on the door. Tech was pretty large guy, so next day the door latch wasnt working very well, then not at all. These magic scraps of plastic were easy to install and realigned the door at minimum cost and hassle.
