> 3 dayIt did the job! My heavy, solid wood front door was leaning some, causing it to stick pretty tightly above the door handle. I did not want to remove the whole door to fix it because its sooo heavy. There were big gaps on the lower part below the door handle and the upper edge hinge side. I used three layers on the lowest hinge, one shim in the middle hinge. I did have to trim with scissors the plastic to fit the shape of my hinges. Easy peasy. It took about a half hour to adjust and readjust to get it just right to realign my door correctly.

> 3 dayFront door was not plumb and had a gap at the bottom of about 3/8ths of an inch. Three issues: 1) the existing screws would not be long enough to secure the door into the jamb, 2) the shims were not the same width as the hinge, so there would be a rocker effect as the door opened and closed, 3) a 3/8 inch shim at the hinge side would be pretty ugly. So I will probably cut a tapered piece of wood to put on the jamb on the opposite side. Note these would probably work well for a smaller gap, however hinge screws are set into the jamb and shimming a hinge even 1/16th of an inch prevents the existing screws from setting as deep. There are 2.5/3 inch screws available specifically for this purpose.

> 3 dayYou can make your own shims, or just loosen the hinge, slide one of these in, tighten screws. 5 minutes tops, and my door shuts properly again. Worth every penny!

> 3 dayThese installed just fine. We will see how well they hold up over time. They did the job and fixed my issue, along with new longer screws. These are really easy to install but are not for people who don’t have at least some experience.

> 3 dayThese shims were very easy to install and I was able to straighten a door that was sticking closed due to soil shifting in a hot Houston summer.
