> 3 dayI replaced the hinges on one of our doors (wife wanted bronze instead of brushed nickle hardware), but found that after I replaced the old hinges the door was about a 1/4 gap on the latch side, and no gap on the hinge side. This left a bit of an air gap and also made the door not close well. These shims were a great solution, since they are 1/16 thick I installed two of them under each hinge attached to the frame to shift the door to the latch side 1/8. Now there is an even 1/8 gap on both sides as shown in the image (I meant to take a before image too, but it slipped my mind, sorry!). Another option is to use cardboard, but its difficult to measure how much a cardboard shim will actually shift the door. And they may not hold up as well over time. These are much better, and they are the perfect shape which makes them easy to install: Just loosen up the hinge hardware, and slide the shim in (if necessary poke it to the required depth using something really thin like a razor or another shim). Then re-tighten the hardware and youre all set! I recommend making sure you have long enough screws in whatever place you install these shims. A lot of hinges come with short screws, but you really want to have ~3 screws going into your door frame so that they are able to grab the actual frame of the door and not just the trim (and make sure to pre-drill too, so you dont split the wood). This will make the door much more sturdy and harder to kick-in as well.

Greater than one weekThis product is a great idea. I showed it to my brother in law who is a carpenter. He was blown away with the simplicity of this and the low price. After installing behind the hinge you cant even see the shim. It was the perfect solution to align the inside front door so it would stay open. I only used one shim.

> 3 dayI didnt notice at first but the package was open and most of the product was remove. 10 of the 15 count was missing. The product works as advertised. I will use the remaining 5, just thought I should report the opened product.

Greater than one weekThese shims served their purpose. They were not the easiest to install and were difficult to get positioned. Once installed they did what they were supposed to do, which was to equal out the gap on each side between the door and the doorjamb.

> 3 dayThese were great and easy to use. I recommend buying longer hinge screws too if you are going to install these.

> 3 dayThe shims worked well to align a heavy metal-clad front door that was sagging. The deadbolt was striking the plate instead of going into the bore, and the whole door had to be muscled up in order to lock it. One issue that I had to work around was that a single shim was not enough to align the door, and with two shims the door would not close. The instructions do not have any mention of this, however if two shims are arranged fully overlapped facing each other with ribbed side being in contact, and the corners of the one that is facing outward are trimmed to fit the indentation in the door jamb, they adjust the door by ~3/32 that was just enough to do the trick in my case. Note that the shims that I received had a 3/4 depth cutouts for the bolts that can be seen in the multi-pack listing for this product.

> 3 dayBrilliant. I have installed many doors in my life and used my share of card board. Just bought a used home with doors that need some tuning. These not only worked extremely well, they are a breeze to use. Cudos to those who thought of this and got it to the market place. Cant go wrong.
