Added this to our large solar array for some outside fun. Used Home depot Prowood pressure treated lumber. Went with a 12 foot 4x6 that is attached to an existing 6x6 and the other end is supported by 12 ft 4x4s buried into the ground about a foot. The top beam extends about 32 inches through the a frame bracket for the trapeze. The swings are a little tight with the two swings and I should have went with a 16 ft top beam. The bracket slid right onto the wood with no issues. I was expecting to have to plane the wood a bit based on reviews but that was not needed. Took maybe an hour to assemble and dig my holes to get it level. Seems to support my 200 lbs at full speed swinging no problem. The 6x6 is anchored in several hundred lbs of concrete though. You probably want anchors if you are building a free-standing frame.

This is the way to go! We love it. Much cheaper than buying the whole wooden swing set, that does not fit our needs. We set it up using 4X4 x8ft long legs, 4X6 x 10 ft long beam. The wood is the red treated wood from Home Depot. Cost $81. We are military so we move a lot, the movers will be able to take this apart and put back together at our new duty stations. It has strong hardware, easy to put together. You just add the swings you want.(we have 3 things on there so far) Ours is tall , just in case we have to saw off some of the legs after taking it apart a few times. Not being able to use the same drill holes in the wood. As our child grows up, we will put a wooden swing for two on it and a hamack swing. There is room for all of that.

The bracket itself is rather self-explanatory. In my opinion, no instructions were needed, so it fits that none were provided. At first glance, this is a heavy-duty piece of equipment. It seems to be very solid and well made. Ive already installed it on one end of our swing set beam. I feel confident that this will support our backyard swing set. The only complaint (which has been resolved by quick and excellent Amazon customer service) is that I ordered a pair, but only received a single bracket. That put a damper on our construction timeline, but not a big deal. Just teaches all of us a lesson in patience. Amazon is sending the second one to us for free with two-day shipping.

After only two years with a playset from another company, (you know them over priced kits you buy with the flimsy wood) we tore it down and decided to build a DIY playset for our kids that would actually last. We knew we wanted to build a swing set separate from a playset. In making sure it was done right from the beginning, we read through the product specifications, questions and comments section beforehand to make sure we ordered the correct wood as part of our research. We bought our pressure treated wood from Lowes, 1-4×6 and 4-4×4×8s as their wood meets the same true measurement requirements. We are completely satisfied with our purchase and will purchase from them again in the future! The package arrived promptly and parts were in great condition, the wood fit perfectly! All in we spent less and have a stronger longer lasting swing than anything you could buy pre-manufactured. Seeing how easy this was, we are on to the play tower next! Doing it all DIY im the future!

It was decently easy to use, even by myself. The kids have been thrilled with their swingset.

When you install your 4x4x8 legs, the inside edges of the 4x4s that touch at the top (as extended inside the bracket) form an isosceles triangle with long side 95 7/8 and short side 74 7/16 (so in that triangle plane, the legs have an angle of approx. 22.8 degrees from the middle of the triangle) The other angle (which extends over the long length of the assembled swing) is approx. 14.5 degrees from vertical. The net result of this is that you make 4 marks on each of the lines that form the corners of your 4x4. The outer corner you leave (the existing corner is the mark). The inner corner, make a mark 2.5 from the bottom. The corner that is inside-long-way/outside-short-way, make a mark 1 from the bottom. The corner that is outside-long-way/inside-short-way, make a mark 1.5 from the bottom. Now join up these 4 points with lines. These lines form a plane, and you can cut the plane with a sawzall with a long blade. The legs will now sit flat on the ground.

So this made building a swing set for my son so much easier. It’s literally is just getting the lumber (we did take the pieces to Lowe’s to make sure they fit well as suggested) and drilling the pilot holes/screws. My only recommendation is getting different hardware. 2 of the screws it came with broke halfway in as we were drilling which sucked to get out. Still would highly suggest this product.

Delivery for an Amazon filled order took way too long. Made in China and the delays cost using the items with the intended child. Durability is tbd.
