Facebook Portal Plus - Smart Video Calling 15.6” Touch Screen Display with Alexa - Black

When I spoke with people at the store it was my understanding that I would be able to hook and connect up with my existing Amazon speakers throughout the house. So far that doesn’t seem to work otherwise it’s a great product.

I bought this product, because I would like to be near to my family. The product serves its purpose. In my opinion, it has good speakers, microphone and screen quality, but the apps are very limited and the interface could be better. I’ve been using over two months and no technical issues show up until now. Hope they try to improve this product software, because I believe that it has potential to be a great product.

I just got the device. Made a few calls, call quality is great! Camera follow is OK but not great (doesnt follow fast enough, or becomes pixelated for a couple of seconds). The worse part is everything else, which is a bummer since the device is huge ad expensive, so I was planning for it to replace my Amazon Echo as well. Main issues: * Audio quality is not that good on high range, and the sub range is much better and stronger, so it feels uneven. * AI is super week. If its the Superframes (screensaver) algorithm of choosing my Facebook pictures, or the quality of the assistant, even lower than the stock Alexa. I hope all this gets better in time. * Lack of applications. Besides Spotify and Facebook watch there isnt anything much there. So bottom line, I with I would have bought the smaller set and use the device to just phone calls.

I train people to use software and equipment. The portal has really made my job so much easier. The connection is much more reliable than other products and software I have used. The sound quality is great, the video quality is great, the ability to redirect the camera and zoom using gestures is really nice.

This product is excellent. We purchased it for an elderly family member at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and it has helped her to feel included in family get togethers. The speaking features make it so she does not have to type on it, which is perfect for those with limited eye sight. It is very large, and the rotating feature makes it easy for people all of levels of technological knowledge. Excellent product

This Facebook Portal Plus system was introduced to my wife by my eldest son. Soon after this we bought the system and have been using this almost daily. We have 3 grandkids and they all love to call us for us to tell them stories almost every day. Later my daughter had her own portal so now our grandkids and we alternately tell stories almost every day. This has excellent Alexa and Portal voice commands features. We read our emails and surf the internet using voice commands. The screen is big enough for watching movies on demand.

I bought these for Christmas. My family loves them! Especially since it was a rough year. We could talk like they were in our livingroom!

The portal was recommended by a friend. I have regular conversations with friends that are far away, and the portal makes it seem like you are together chatting in your living room- or cooking together for that matter. The camera on the screen moves with you! I would highly recommend this for those who are having regular video conferencing with family, friend or work. Its like being there. You must have a FaceBook messenger account, but those you call dont have to have the machine. I havent connected to Alexa so cant rate that feature.

The Video conferencing is the only reason Im giving this one star otherwise this doesnt even worth the one star, Im upset of it because it lacks a lot of a very basic functionalities that are available on similar products, I use the echo show 2 all the time, and this device cant do 90% of what the echo show 2 can do. How could it be better? well the number one thing that I need to be able to use it is keyboard/mouse support. You can browse the web on this device, but with the touch screen its very annoying with the onscreen keyboard. Apps, very limited apps, not even a Facebook app, come on! Its totally locked, so you cant add apps from other sources. You cant do anything with the Camera, its only for calling someone on your Facebook friends list who also have to be on a mobile device or another portal, you cant communicate with a guy using Facebook from a laptop for example. You cant stream, take a picture, or use it as a mirror, because theres not camera app even. and the price, I got it on discount and Id kill my self if Ive bought it retail because it totally doesnt worth it. So again if you only want to video call someone who happen to have a portal, then this might be a good device for you if you intended to do a lot of video calls other wise dont bother.

I got this primarily for video calling family members due to its easy to use interface and smart camera feature. It did its primary job very well. In addition to video calling, we also use it to watch cooking videos in the kitchen and listening to music while cooking and washing dishes. The 15.6 screen is good quality. Overall, happy with my purchase.
