This product is excellent. We purchased it for an elderly family member at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and it has helped her to feel included in family get togethers. The speaking features make it so she does not have to type on it, which is perfect for those with limited eye sight. It is very large, and the rotating feature makes it easy for people all of levels of technological knowledge. Excellent product

We love our Portal to spend time with our family that is out of state. I have used Story Time for our granddaughter. Only one concern, we had a Portal+ that only lasted 18 months. A lot of money for only 18 months use. However, we are hoping that it was a fluke and this one lasts for a longer time. We gave the 10” Portals as gifts and they have lasted for a few years.

Does require reasonable upload speed in order for picture quality to be good (say 5MB+ or so). If you or the other user has DSL, picture quality will be bad.

Its nice to see family without holding your phone! You can see grandchildren running around and your kids reacting naturally to them.

Great product, video calling my friends is fun, specially when my mom and my sister live far away

I use this hands free in my kitchen while I’m cooking. I love the speaker on this Portal and this a very solid piece of equipment. Love the “zoom” feature and how it “pans” the room as you move about in the room. If I want to play my Pandora music the speaker is great!! If I want to engage Alexa it’s all there!

Its a nice one but the apps that you rwad that could be used on it you can at this time

So we bought the smaller portable one for my MIL. And got this one for us since we have 4 bouncing kids. It has been a life saver being able to keep in touch. Being almost 7K miles away during this pandemic has made things difficult. But FB portal is easy enough that those less inclined about TECH van easil use it. No more forehead and chin shots anymore

Was not what was advertised. It was supposed to be new and it came in a plastic bag with no power cord or anything else.

The portal was recommended by a friend. I have regular conversations with friends that are far away, and the portal makes it seem like you are together chatting in your living room- or cooking together for that matter. The camera on the screen moves with you! I would highly recommend this for those who are having regular video conferencing with family, friend or work. Its like being there. You must have a FaceBook messenger account, but those you call dont have to have the machine. I havent connected to Alexa so cant rate that feature.
