Easily Installable. The only negative part is that the instructions dont give great direction on backing files up or how to restore them. I had to look this part up online. Also, the instruction for un-installing the hard drive, are for older model PS4s, which mine is not. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK - Compared to prices at a local shop such as Gamestop or Bestbuy, this product offers an amazing price. Not only are you getting the hard drive at a fraction of the price, you also get an 8 GB thumb drive and a good quality external hard drive chassis that allows you to transform your previous PS4 Hard drive into an external one for PC use. BACKING UP FILES - If you are looking to back up save files and are not worried about re-installing your games, make sure to export from each profile you want the save files from. These will need to be restored per profile. In my case, I backed up my main profile save files, but didnt realize it was only the main profile when attempting to restore the files. This required me to un-install the new hard drive, insert the old, back up the other profiles I cared about, and then re-install the new hard drive. Not too difficult, but time consuming. There is also an option to back EVERYTHING up, if you take the time to go through the file management options, and not just the save file back-up options. This may, as it would have in my case, taken more space than provided on the external thumb drive provided by the kit. FOR NEWER MODEL PS4s - The uninstall directions for the hard drive are for older models. On the newer models, the screw to remove the hard drive is in front, which then allows you to easily pull the hard drive out. The screw on mine required a drill to remove it, so be prepared.

Easy to install & definitely simplified my PS5 usage.

I dont have to wait 30mins installing a game. Worth every dang penny!! If you are asking for a sign whether to buy this or not, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Just do it, you wont regret it. Update : 536GB transfer only takes 7minutes!!!

Got it installed and formatted size was 3.99tb. Installed 500gb in 6min.

Pretty pleased. Stuff like this always makes me nervous (Im a bit of a Luddite), but instructions were easy to follow and every step was clear. It took about 25 minutes hands on time. One oddness; you cant import your saved game data onto your new drive unless the game is installed there, so you need to re download and/or disc install every program you want to import the saved game data from. Logistically, this was easy; all content Id purchased was saved in my user library, so once I set up the new drive and signed in to my Sony account it only took a couple of clicks. As you can imagine though, the downloads themselves were time consuming. Mine took about eight hours downloading in sleep mode so I let it run overnight. One minor nit with the kit itself: two of the screws securing my original PS4 drive were over-tightened, and the head of the screw driver included in the kit stripped when I tried removing them. Its a pretty cheap one time-use thing I guess. Luckily, I had a higher quality phillips head of the right size among my tools and it worked easily. Ill echo other reviewers - its important you get the correct PS4 PUP update file from the SONY website to put on the flash drive. As of 11/26/16, you need to scroll down through a lot of options before the right one shows up; its a good ways down the page. Im keeping the old drive in current state case theres a problem (the kit includes an aluminum casing to convert it to an external portable drive), but looks like everything is up and running.

Really great price for a well made and taken care of m.2 ssd. Simple to install into a ps5. Well responsive and as fast as it claims. Came in a very stylish tin and even has a decal to put on the outside of the playstation. Will order again. Got the 1TB product, but they do have a 4tb on their website as well. the kit was easy to use with clear instructions, we had no problems making the switch. new hd is working great and we are very happy! however i am taking off one star because the external hd case we got is faulty. (please note the flash drive gave us no problems, just the hd case) its a great concept and very convenient, being able to just pop in the old hard drive and have an external is great! but the external hd housing provided in our kit had a finicky connection, or some similar problem. we planned to use the old playstation hd as an external on our wiiU but had an entire afternoon and evening of frustration trying to get the hd to stay connected. it would just randomly disconnect and corrupt any data on the hd which required reformatting every time. we switched the old ps4 hd into another external casing to experiment and found that the problem lay in the casing itself. it had similar problems connecting to our laptops, the wiiU, and the ps4 regardless of which hd was installed. in the end not a huge loss since you can get a decent casing at a reasonable price, but it was kind of disappointing and frustrating that the provided equipment didnt function properly. overall still a good product though, the most important part for us (having more storage on the ps4) works flawlessly and so i would still recommend this product if you dont mind that the external case might not work.
