Greater than one weekUPDATE: After 3 months of use, the screen is hypersensitive. If I touch a character, it types many characters. If I hit back space once, it deletes several characters. If browsing YouTube, it plays videos constantly changing from one to another midstream..Not sure if other screens are better, but Im very disappointed. The new digitizer kit was delivered quickly and packaged well. Other than a hair dryer/hot air gun, and good directions, the kit provides everything you need. I have an iPod Mini Gen 2 (A1489) and the directions must be for some other iPad because a lot of it didnt match...thank god for YouTube! I did follow most of the instructions in the sub-micron font they provided, but the directions end with the removal of all the parts...THERE ARE NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!! WTF?? You may think that you just follow the directions in reverse, but there is one key step which was to hook everything up before peeling the adhesive and giving it a test drive. I did this and the digitizer simply did not work...UGHH. I then took it all apart again and couldnt find anything wrong (Ive replaced many iPhone screens to Im good with the connectors). I reassembled and rebooted and Voilà it all worked. Soooo...make sure to reboot after everything is hooked up. The only difference between the Apple digitizer and this replacement, is that there is a noticeable lag when I type. The LCD doesnt highlight the selected letter until I get ~3 letters ahead. I dont mind this enough to return it, but its worth mentioning. All in all, Id buy this again. Good luck! (See UPDATE above)

> 3 dayWorked good, next day can’t turn off iPad, touch screen at top stoped working. 15+year gov tech work. Did many Apple items before. Got new lcd installed with this so this cost me $$ not just the item I ordered. I would need a whole new “lcd kit” not parted out like I had ordered it. ***Bottom wire feed is faulty on this and temperamental with touch on install when closing shell. Places do different feeds and lengths ask any installer at a repair place or look at photos online to see. This wire feed was made too short/tight.*** Don’t want my money back, I need a whole new lcd kit now as I’m not a shop and don’t have extra tape etc laying around to refix a bad situation to reinstall another. If your not a shop or have extra stuff for repairs don’t buy this and buy a whole lcd and touch sensor kit, then if it goes bad you will not be disappointed enough to write on here like this…. If I was at fault I would admit it, my fault not buying a whole kit from 1 seller alone. Orson! calling Orson! Come in Orson! Shuzzebutt!!!

> 3 dayHighly recommended for any DIYer. No complaints. Everything included to complete the job properly, including built in adhesive (which is really important so you don’t have to custom fit your own in that tiny space). As others have said, just watch a YouTube video and follow it. Use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive and patiently pry away the screen. I suggest taping over the screen with packing tape before you get started so that you don’t have pieces of glass flying everywhere, since the screen will probably crack and shatter as you pry it away. Takes about an hour or so. Only use the metal tool to get it started, then use the plastic tools once your start prying underneath so you don’t damage anything. If you’re not sure you can handle it, watch the videos before you order.

> 3 dayWelp, I fixed my offspring’s broken screen annnnnnnd then she dropped it again. It’s a perfect replacement but buy your kids a potato instead of a tablet, it’ll last longer.
