Fluance RT82 Reference High Fidelity Vinyl Turntable Record Player with Ortofon OM10 Cartridge, Speed Control Motor, High Mass MDF Wood Plinth, Vibration Isolation Feet - Walnut

I was hoping for a decent sounding turntable and expecting that the quality to feel a little cheap with the MDF base and price point but I was very wrong to think that! The tone arm and plate are very solid and even the base has some weight and feels sturdy, nothing about it feels fragile at all and the sound is wonderful. Vinyl is so open and clean sounding compared to mp3s and pairing this with the Fluance preamp really unlocks that openness. Paired with a decent pair of powered monitors and my albums come to life. Highly recommended!

Just bought this as my first turn table. I was going to go with the RT81 but the wood color was sold out and the other colors were the same price as this one. It was easy to setup, it’s easy to use, and it sounds great. Don’t forget that this DOESN’T have a built in phono preamp so make sure you buy one.

After fiddling with a Pro-Ject Essential III for a few months and being not too happy, I saw this Fluance RT82 as a New - Open Box special. It was exactly as described, really brand new. (Both had Ortofon OM 10 Cartridges installed.) I was shocked how it beat the Pro-Ject hands down. The Pro-Ject was very sensitive to outside vibration and noise, and no matter how I tweaked it there was a constant motor noise transmitted through the tone arm and cartridge. The motor operation was actually audible a few feet away with the volume turned down. The Fluance is dead quiet, well isolated from motor and other noises and vibrations, and not too prone to skipping from footsteps near it. Overall it seems to be an entire grade of quality above the Pro-Ject. Tracking, speed and stability are amazing for the price. Paired with a Yamaha A-S501BL Amplifier and JBL 4312G monitors it is a pleasure to listen to without constant fiddling.

I just took delivery today and Im very impressed overall. I have a modest system driving the music through an Onkyo 8140 receiver into a pair of Paradigm Mini Monitors (from the 90s). This table is pulling everything from the vinyl. I ordered a second headshell to mount an Ortophon 2M Red that I recently purchased trying to upgrade my old Philips 677 table. This will allow me to keep the factory setup OM10 in case I dont like the sound. Just popped on Little Feats Sailin Shoes (yep, Im a geezer) and the album sings! The only caution is that there is considerable setup and assembly. Instructions are very clear though. Also, the auto stop function is unique and very useful. Dont hesitate. Update: I received the second headshell and mounted my OM2 Red cart. I was a bit disappointed in the performance vs. the OM10. The 2M Red seems a bit muddier and less open although the bass response is at least as strong, maybe a bit stronger. I would probably advise to save up for an OM2 Blue instead since the reviews seem to suggest a big dynamic upgrade from the Red. Bottom line is that I actually prefer the OM10 and am sticking with it

My husband requested this phonograph and he is extremely happy with it. The sound is wonderful and clear and he can play his old albums.

Really nice turntable that I would recommend to a friend. Fairly easy setup. Instructions on assembly are included in the packaging. Very good sound quality. You need an amplifier or receiver with a phono input and ground connector. Otherwise you will need a phono preamplifier. I use the Nobsound T3 MM phono preamplifier. You might want to spend a couple of extra bucks on a stylus scale to get a more accurate weight setting on the tone arm. I also have a blank anti skate record which I used to check the anti skate function. These accessories are fairly inexpensive to buy. The automatic stop function works fine. It takes about 25 to 30 seconds to stop when it reaches the end of the record. Also, I experienced some ground hum at first which I was able to resolve by plugging in my phono pre amp into a separate outlet.

Fluance does NOT pay for the expensive return shipping for this heavy item. And youre gonna want to return it. This turntable has one thing going for it- the aesthetic. And thats how I got suckered. Even the fancy needle cant redeem the shoddy quality of the device. Theres no automatic loading arm and putting the needle on the record manually with the shoddy plastics that make up the smaller parts proves precarious and could easily damage the fancy needle. The external pre-amp setup was enticing for an audio nerd like me who craves pristine sound without electrical interference. Like the well-reviewed OM10 needle cartridge, its more sucker-bait. Fluance doesnt even provide all the required RCA cables and they dont warn you ahead of time. So imagine my experience gifting this to father and setting it up together only to find Fluance doesnt give you all the parts to make it work. I bought matching Fluance speakers and their preamp thinking it would reduce compatibility issues. Speakers didnt even work. And now I have to pay a small fortune to return ALL of it. Save yourself the anger, disappointment, time and money. Dont buy this record player. Looks cool/piece of crap

This is my first record player and I couldnt be happier with the sound and how beautiful it looks. Highly recommend this as your first player.

Feels well made sounds great looks amazing easy setup hardest part attachment of hinges to dust cover so nice afraid of damaging nice took a month to decide which one to choose checked out many brands this one met my expectations feels and looks like should have cost a lot more
