Fluval A20061 X06 AquaStop Valve

They fail in about a year so consider that in your budgeting when buying a canister. Seriously if you are going to buy something that says Fluval on it make sure it says FX6, I think that is the only line they care about. I love my FX6 (that will change if it betrays me). The rest of their stuff? I think they cut quality a few years ago for share holder value. So 306, 406, Spec tanks, skip them.

Evidently all big Fluval filter water stops break or leak eventually. The one on my 406 took 4 years to start leaking. Not bad. Im very gentle when disconnecting for cleaning. But its nice to see they are still available. Kinda pricey but the Fluval filters are still the best in my opinion. I havent even had to replace the impeller cover since they improved the design some years ago. Bought a spare stop for next time.

I had to replace mine because the red flap that tightened it down to the top of the filter was missing. Quick and easy replacement.
