> 3 dayDevice is slow, screen is dim, resolution is low, touch screen isnt up to par. Plastic latch on the back broke in a mtn bike crash, bought an after market aluminum attachment. Screen stopped allowing Touch input, buttons dont provide enough functionality to make the device useful. DO NOT BUY.. I mean it works as long as you like old things and want to be gentle with it. Way too much money for something like this.

> 3 dayThe Garmin 1040 Solar software is HORRIBLE - full of bugs. The sync logo frequently goes into endless cycling, several of the menus lead to repetitive cycles asking the same info over and over. Overall this EXPENSIVE computer isnt worth the money. Get something else!

Greater than one weekBest bike computer so far for me in 30 years. This does it all for me. Hooks up to my power meters and all my bikes, my sensors on my spin bike. has a great size screen for navigation. is very customizable. I love how it comes with trailforks mtb maps. And the garmin connect software is always getting better. Liking the screenshot feature as well to save moments on the screen (see pics)
