Garmin 010-02424-00 Edge 1030 Plus, GPS Cycling/Bike Computer, On-Device Workout Suggestions, ClimbPro Pacing Guidance and More

Ive been using Garmin Edge computers for about 6 years. I owned the Edge 1000, Edge 1030, and now the Edge 1030 Plus. Ive logged hundreds of rides on those devices, and Ive used them with assorted speed sensors, cadence sensors, heart rate sensors, lights, cameras, electronic shifters, and cell phones. Ive also used them with Garmin Connect, Strava, Ride With GPS, and assorted other websites. After all that, here is my final opinion:

Very accurate, much better speed with this processor. Route loading / screen touch sensitivity. Will not disappoint.

I love this thing. Its a great upgrade from the old Garmin Edge 1000 I had previously. I also use their Vivosmart 4 watch to get my heart rate data, and I use their smart headlight and radar tailight and a stages power meter. The 1030 perfectly integrates with these other devices without any hiccups, along with the gear information from my Di2 groupset, and getting all my data combined on the Garmin Connect app and its syncing to Strava is flawless. I am very happy with this expensive, but handy computer. You wont improve your training flying in the dark - you have to collect data and then get the analysis/feedback. Garmin does this at a very high level without frustrating the user.

The user interface is terrible! The design goes back to the 80s probably even before that. You have to link to Garmin connect app or download the tracks via Garmin user unfriendly app. On the run - if you have to actually navigate as I do, the arrows, tracks, and maps are confusing. The GPS itself is probably ok. As for the plus side it is much much better than the 520+ I had before. Much better! Garmin should hire one of Apples UI graphic designers and make a better job. The overall operating experience is terrible.

The touchscreen (IMO) is now a must have. I upgraded from a GARMIN 530 and the 1030 is a leaps forward for convenience and ease of use.

Awesome upgrade from my 800 series. Bought the combo on sale at Amazon and thrilled with it, thank you Amazon and garmin!
