> 3 dayI had the 1000 and gave it to my son-in-law. While the functionality of the 1000 Plus is much the same the bigger screen is much easier to read and that alone made the upgrade worthwhile for me.

Greater than one weekReplaced my 520 after it failed to take a charge. This new unit is SO much better! I love the loudness of the warning beep - I use a Varia radar and seldom ever heard it with the 520. The touch screen works flawlessly, Im a happy camper with this purchase

> 3 dayThis is a great bike companion, the accuracy as far as altitude is pretty accurate, I live at a elevation of 6100 ft and it tracks the altitude very well as well as degree of slope. You can track the elevation of your ride by a very easy to read and understand graph chart. I haven’t tried the heart rate strap yet, but I really like this unit. Excellent navigation and tracking even on bike paths or there’s tons of preloaded trails, it lists every MTB trail within 50 miles from where I live which gives more options for exploring without worrying about getting “turned around” or lost.

> 3 dayBest bike computer so far for me in 30 years. This does it all for me. Hooks up to my power meters and all my bikes, my sensors on my spin bike. has a great size screen for navigation. is very customizable. I love how it comes with trailforks mtb maps. And the garmin connect software is always getting better. Liking the screenshot feature as well to save moments on the screen (see pics)

> 3 dayThe touchscreen (IMO) is now a must have. I upgraded from a GARMIN 530 and the 1030 is a leaps forward for convenience and ease of use.

Greater than one weekUpgraded from an Edge 1000 because we missed a turn and extended our ride by many miles. This 1030 is more like an iPhone telling you when when to turn, how long to the turn, and larger font and brighter colors. Also has a get back to the start function in case you need to get back quick.

> 3 dayThe Garmin unit itself is amazing, love looking at all the data it produces. However, the heart rate monitor is hit and miss. I have been using Garmin HR monitors for several years, but disappointed in this particular one. Otherwise happy with the 1030 unit.
