> 24 hourCAT6, oxygen-free copper cable in a solid-feeling rubberized jacket with pro-quality cannon connectors (ethercon-type). This is one nice cable! I ordered it, to pair with Gearits 4-channel DMX/XLR Audio extender. This cable works perfectly. The cables cannon/ehtercon connectors click into the extender boxes, firmly- making for excellent, noise-free signal conduction. It is worth a mention that this cable is advertised and labeled as shielded. However, the specification for the shielding isnt specifically stated. Instead, one of the photos in the listing shows an image of 4 pairs of insulated, stranded conductors, surrounded by an aluminum shield. Curiously, the image suggests both a solid, and a braided aluminum shield- but again, nothing is specifically stated. For this reasons, it is unclear whether this is actually CAT6 SF/UTP... which means the cable would consist of 4 unshielded twisted pairs, surrounded by an outer foil, plus a braided shield- just beneath the jacket. That said, this cable is robust, features pro-quality assembly, and yields pro-quality signal propagation. Id buy more.

> 24 hourFirst off, this is great for its intended purpose. That is, a locking cable for compatible audio equipment. If youre like me and will use it for its intended purpose once per year, (or maybe you accidentally ordered this) you can just take the locking cap off and use it anywhere. When you need the cap, just put it back on. You wont hurt anything by taking it off. If you need to do that, just unscrew it until you can pop the end of the cap right off. Then pull back the back side of the locking mechanism (the part still on the cable) so its out of the way, then pull that blue part back to release the tab on the RJ45, and finally just push the blue part back, under the tab. Bam, you have a high quality CAT6 cable you can use anywhere. Mine is on my PS5 right now. It works great.

> 24 hourIf you are using audio or lightening solutions to replace an old-fashioned audio snake, then you will love Ethercon. I am using this cable to connect two GearIt 4 jack XLR boxes, and it works great! I love being able to disconnect everything so that it packs down into a small package, and still only having to have one long length of cable run to the mixer for four different channels. It even handles phantom power without issue. The cable is well made, the connectors are rock solid, and I have no issues with its performance!

> 24 hourI’ve only recently discovered Ethercon technology and started using it with the drum kit in my home studio. Unlike regular XLR snakes with their large boxes and unruly diameter cables, EC extenders are very compact yet still pass audio signals transparently. This particular cable has rugged jacketing with solid, tight fitting connectors. Its stress reliefs are sufficient, and also have serrated surfaces for a better grip. Even using a combination of dynamic and condenser microphones in the same pair of extenders I couldn’t detect any signal degradation whatsoever, no doubt in part to the use of CAT6 connectivity which depending on length supports data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps. It also carries phantom power without any sort of external power supply required. Note that it’s a very bad idea to attempt using a standard CAT6 Ethernet cable between EC extender boxes, as most have insufficient shielding which will create line noise and worse likely not support phantom power. That said, to avoid possible headaches I’d suggest picking up a cable that’s specifically designed for EC use, and this one certainly fits the bill.

> 24 hourSo far, so good. Nothing to complain about with this very well made etherCON-compatible audio cable which allows you to send four audio (or DMX) signals over a single CAT6 cable rather than have four long XLR cables snaking across your studio or stage. The cable is thick and robust and clicks-in securely to the GearIT 4-channel extender boxes Im using with the cable. The etherCon-style housings surrounding the RJ45 connectors on the ends are metal - assuring a solid connection with the extender boxes. The plastic RJ45 connectors themselves look rugged and fit securely into the etherCON housing that has a pre-molded metal shape on the inside that the RJ45 slides into to securely orient and hold the RJ45 in the proper position. A professional cable that sounds great.

> 24 hourI wanted to start off by saying this cable does it jobs and works as intended. I wish there was more information to provide, but just for testing purposes, I wanted to make sure the cable was a CAT6, so I unscrewed the end housing to test the quality of the cable and it does in fact handle the correct speeds that are listed in the informational page. This is a quality product and thank you for a great product!!!

Reviews and Information
> 24 hourI was initially put off by how rigid the cable was, but looking inside explained it. This Ethercon cable is sturdy. It has a center divider core separating the pairs, a foil shield, then a copper shield, then the plastic cable jacket, and then over that another more rubbery jacket. That means it does have a fair bit of coil memory and takes a little work to get it to lie flat in a corner, but it should stand up to a lot. The shells hold well in sockets, and electrically it checks out in terms of pinout.

> 24 hourThe GearIT CAT6 cable supports EtherCON connections and is made very well and is altogether a quality cable. It handles DMX and analog audio, with the ability to handle stage lights and other compatible equipment. So far it is working great with a DJ setup and we couldnt be more pleased.

> 24 hourThis 10 Heavy duty cat6 ethernet cable is very well made and provides protective ends for your network connection. Great for in those areas you want your connections protected and the cabling to be able to give you the best data signal possible. A great product for how its made! Enjoy!
