Generic AC Power Adapter Charger for Nintendo 3DS/DSi/XL

When I first ordered this adapter, the package showed up empty. It was just a sealed bubble package with nothing inside. Contacted amazon support and they sent out a replacement the next day. When I finally got the adapter, it worked as intended for about 3 months before a 1000uF capacitor inside of it blew. I opened it up, desoldered the bad capacitor, and soldered in a replacement part with a higher voltage rating, and had to cut a chunk out of the plastic encasement to make it fit, but the charger works again. Its made with cheap components, so dont be surprised if a capacitor breaks after a few months. If you know an electrical engineer or EE student, feel free to ask them to replace a capacitor in this when it stops working. Youll know which capacitor it is because the top of the capacitor will be rounded and not flat.

it was for a gift for some one it works good as it should on the intended unit

It works perfectly, only thing is, its shorter than a normal 3ds charger

Although not as good of quality as the original wii unit, it has been a good workhorse of a spare. It is lighter weight than the original but we have had it for at least a month and have no complaints about it.
