> 3 dayThe helmet with MIPS itself is acceptable but the straps and the buckle are both so flimsy. The worst or the design is the strap does not stay under your chin but across your throat. Its more dangerous than protect.

Greater than one weekI am using this one in Florida, so ventilation is important. This is the safest and most vented helmet I could find. I am also impressed with how light it is - you can barely feel it on your head. So, if you have to wear a helmet, I’d go for this one. Adjustability is great and easy.

> 3 dayI bought this helmet in red as a gift for my brother in law. He absolutely loves it and only uses it over the other helmet he has. The red matches his bike too.

> 3 dayBought this helmet for Florida XC riding and lots of heat. Summer in Florida is brutal. This helmet didn’t cook my head. Never stunk. And 2 weeks ago I put it to the test. Went down a big drop on purpose, but didn’t know there was a ramp/jump right after launching me at 25-30mph. My carbon 29” bike isn’t meant for jumping and my 215lbs body isn’t either lol. So it shot me up about 20ft and I was lucky and my head/neck/shoulder broke my fall before I slid to a stop. I was CT scanned from my head to my pelvis with no broken bones. They did a couple different scans of my head and I came back all clear. So I’m very happy with the helmet doing it’s job. I spent about 4 seconds adjusting it and just used it from 8 months with zero issues or discomfort.

> 3 dayI got this to replace an aging helmet. I dont really mountain bike anymore, Im more of an urban rider but I dont like the look/feel of most road helmets and this one seemed like a good compromise. And it is. It is a good blend of trail and street. It isnt too rugged looking and not too round roadie looking, and it is super comfortable and easy to adjust. It feels sturdy and well made but also light and has good ventilation. I got the matte gray which as other have said is very light, almost a dirty white color which is exactly why I wanted that color. I didnt want a black helmet as we live by the beach in NC and it gets hot, anything black is a bad idea on your head. So this color is good, my bike is black/white so it works for that too. Overall if you want a good all around mix use lid with MIPS at a good price Im not sure you can beat this one.

> 3 dayVery comfortable and size was perfect. I have a big head and reading reviews i was skeptical on my choice of the universal size I chose. But it actually was more comfortable than my previous helmet. Very light weight. Im happy with the purchase.. highly recommended

> 3 dayI had added a flexible visor to my old helmet for sun protection. It was attached by velcro and would flap around and occasionally fly off. The Fixture helmets snap on visor is a much better solution. Also, I needed the XL size so that is a nice option available with this helmet. Great fit.

> 3 dayIm super happy with this helmet so far. Its comfortable. Its easy to adjust (which I have to do often because where I am, its winter in the morning and late spring in the afternoon, so I have to adjust between wearing a beanie underneath and wearing it just on my head). Overall it feels secure and my head feels protected. I also appreciate the big visor to help keep the sun out of my eyes. Only minor thing that I feel like this helmet could use is some kind of screen or mesh over the front vents to help keep bugs out. Otherwise, the vents do pretty well at cooling my head when its hot. All in all, Giro makes good helmets and this one is no exception.
