> 3 daySo I am trying to fix a plastic pond liner so wanted to have it adhere under water so I don’t have to drain pond first…. It won’t…. Even slightly damp surface will make it not stick and if even a corner gets wet it just won’t stay on….. that said…. Once it is applied on dry material and sticks…. It seems to be fine going underwater and will stay put and be waterproof. Just need to get it to stick initially

> 3 dayI used this product after lots of research for hull protection on my kayak. So far so good. I wish I had a heat gun as I was applying over the front tip of the hull to help stretch and bend the tape so there’d be no gathering along the edges. Instead I just pressed with my fingers to get as smooth as possible. Getting air bubbles out went well and had no issues applying. This does not remove easily and was very sticky and would stick down quickly as I was applying. I have not had it in the water yet; I was giving it a few days to set up before getting wet in the lake water. I’ll update if anything changes.

Greater than one weekWow! This stuff sticks! As a first time user, it was a massive education. The previous owner of my car had sealed the sunroof shut. But the seal was old enough, it was leaking again anyway. And since it was sealed shut, I couldnt get to the drain holes to clean them out. Nobody professional would touch it with a 10 foot pole, so I was left with the most drastic of measures. To seal it this way. Even though I measured everything 3 to 4 times, it still came out with a few surprises when trying to put it on. But even cutting some of it on the fly, and also a tiny bit of overlapping when I specifically didnt want to do that, much to everyones surprise it looks shockingly good. Just know these things first: 1. Once you stick a small piece down, its NEVER coming up again. 2. There is a tiny bit of adhesive around the outside of the tape. If that gets on your car, the glue is there for life so be careful. 3. Tuck the extra adhesive under the tape as best you can, or it will be visible forever. I used a steel ruler edge for this in the few places it was showing. 4. The tape stretches. This can be an advantage or disadvantage, depending upon how you use it. Knowing ahead of time would have helped. 5. The wrinkles in the tape cannot be pressed or rollered out. So avoid using those pieces at all cost. Even if it means buying an additional roll. Trust me. Its worth it. 6. To clean the adhesive off your scissors and/or exactoknife, use nail polish remover. 7. Since this is permanent, choose something to trace rounded corners for you to cut evenly. It looks so much nicer, and is worth the extra effort. 8. It was used on a trailer over in high desert country where it gets WAY hotter and WAY colder than it does here, and that was 20 years ago. Its still doing just fine over there. So the promise of UV protection, and hot/cold resistance they claim is no joke. Hope all this helps. By the way, girls... Im a girl and I managed to do this all by myself with an audience of men just standing around watching for amusement. So put on a trashy t-shirt, some fun music, and show em we arent completely helpless after all. You can do it!

03-06-2025I needed to patch an above ground pool solar cover with tape on top and bottom of cover. Both sides would be wet. Previous brand failed miserably. The product went on very easily and have remined in place. Great job. Very reasonable priced and delivered by Amazon in one day.

> 3 dayI used this tape to repair the bed cover of my truck. I tried to do the repair with other tape but they all failed including flexi tape. Take a little care for a better chance at success. I first brought the cover inside to be in a warm dry place. I cleaned the area with alcohol. I waited a day to let the cover reach room temperature. The tape should also be at the same temperature. I cut a length of tape and rounded the corners. Then I carefully applied the tape. I left the taped cover in the warm space for a couple of days to let the adhesive cure and bond.

> 3 dayI used this to add to the top of my formal pond liner, that had shrunken down about 2 over the last 6 years. The liner is regular pond liner, and is somewhat stiff/crispy, but its in a concrete block pond, so I think I can get a few more years out of it. I really only needed 2 at the top, but decided to use the entire 4 width of the tape. I cut each side to the size I needed + 2. I then rolled it up, peeled back the protective sheet as I went, about 4 at a time. These were 5.2 long strips, which was somewhat intimidating when you know you cannot reposition. And you cant. Once its on, its on. I cleaned the liner first, removing any algae, and then cleaning off again with alcohol before I put the tape on. If you figure out how to unroll and remove backing at the same time, as I did, this was an easy job. The tape is holding very well, and I cannot imagine the reviewers who say the backing was dry. No way. They must not have removed the backing. The edge of the tape has a visible line of adhesive, but its under the waterline so I dont care. Anyway, time will tell if it last. But it will probably outlive the liner. Good job, Gorilla.

07-06-2025The text beyond the line is the review from a different reviewer named Mark from June 21, 2022. I literally screenshot his review so I could repair my own 1,200 gallon vinyl pool. I had only one tiny hole spurting water on the seam of the side and the bottom. I couldn’t find the patch that came with the pool, so I was hoping for some sort of solution. So far, after one week, so good! I will add, be conscious about where you set the tape roll when not in use. It is so sticky that you’ll ruin any paper or susceptible materials with the adhesion of the side of the tape. ______________________________________________ Okay, so this is Gorilla Tape. Gorilla tape works, we all know this. But what about underwater? So my brand spanking new vinyl liner pool decides to spring not one, not two, but three leaks on its first fill up. 3000 gallons of water to fill this thing up, I wasnt going to empty it! I live in a desert, I felt guilty enough filling it up, emptying it out to fix a hole and then refilling, no way. So I researched a ton of different patches and came across this product here on Amazon. The reviews were weird. Yes, I read them just like you are doing now. Some say it didnt stick at all? Another says it comes off the roll really loose. Here is the scoop - there is an error on the directions for this tape. So, lets do two things here together - One, know you are not wasting your time, get this product. Right now, dont waste time! Two, read below on a couple of important but easy steps on using it. 1) The directions tell you to cut off the piece you want and then round the corners. Here is something important: Do NOT - guys, read that again - do NOT - use your wifes good scissors or the ones in your knife rack. Dont do it guys. The residue left behind was like crazy glue. It sticks! Your best bet is using a decent pair of scissors and making your cuts in one smooth motion. This will prevent goo from getting on your scissors. 2) AFTER cutting, get to where you need to place the tape and then REMOVE the transparent liner over the sticky part of the tape. The directions never tell you to remove this liner! Well, to those people with the negative reviews, they didnt remove the liner. Once you remove it, watch out - it is sticky as can be! Try not to touch the sticky part!! We took the tape, sticky exposed, went underwater, and stuck that bad boy right where the pool was leaking. Pressed all the air out, pressed down on the edges, then just stood on it for a few minutes. Did this for all three holes and not one has leaked again. Okay, so it isnt as pretty as some of the other patches, it is a big black piece of tape. But it works and works fast and it is easy. Buy with confidence.

> 3 dayIts not easy to use, but I learned after struggling with it the first time that wearing plastic gloves and using the tip of a scissors to scrape the backing so it could be easily removed made working with it easier. The glue on the back is strong and instantly adhesive so if the cut strip accidentally touches something it shouldnt removing it can be difficult but using shorter strips reduces the likelihood of that happening. I used it on two projects. The first was to repair a large hole in the backwash pipe from my pool filter. So far after several weeks there are still no signs of leakage whereas previously a small fountain of water had been spurting ito the air. The other repair was to a solar pool cover whose seams had come apart. The cover was on the pool, the seams were wet, but the tape held the failed sections together. Only relatively small pieces of tape (about a foot long) at each end of the cover were needed .
