Grabbit Magnetic Sewing Pincushion with 50 Plastic Head Pins, Black

> 3 dayI love this thing. Why didnt I buy one years ago? Probably because I dont do a lot of sewing. But every time I do, keeping track of the pins is always a problem. And I live in fear of dropping them on the carpet and being unable to find them. This makes it so easy to grab pins when you need them and toss them back when you dont. The wide flat area is great because you dont even have to be really accurate when you drop the pins onto it. This definitely qualifies as one of those gosh I wish I had thought of this idea years ago items.

Greater than one weekI used the same magnetic pincushion since the 80s, that is until I knocked it off the table one too many times and broke it. I replaced it with two Grabbits, black and teal, so I could have one at my sewing machine and the other by my coverstitch. These are every bit as nice and heavy as my vintage one. Toss the pins to the Grabbit as you sew and they go right in, all lined up the same direction as they should. To prevent knocking them off my tables I bought two textured jar openers (from Amazon) to put underneath to keep them from sliding. Works great!

> 3 dayI have 2 of these handy magnets...one for my quilting pins and one for my sewing pins. The bright colors make it easier to find under a pile of fabric. Its simple to grab a pin from magnet and it will pick pins off floor and machine throat plate quickly...no more hunting for or spilling pins on the floor, making sewing more pleasant and much faster. I may get one more for my Heirloom glass head pins... The pins that come with this magnet are very poor quality. I threw them away... fabric is too expensive to make holes in!

Greater than one weekLove this pincushion. Okay, it is not a cushion, but a plastic plate/bowl sort of thing with a magnet inside. It grabs the pins really easily, and you dont have to worry about which end is up. Since the pins that come with it have balls on the ends it makes them easy to grab. The magnet tends to make the pins line up parallel to each other so that helps too. I bought this on a lark a decade or so ago, and really thought I wouldnt care all that much for it since I was used to a traditional pin cushion I could stab happily. I changed my mind. Mine got destroyed recently so I just bought replacement, and picked up another for my daughter. The pins that come with the Grabbit are long, balled and sharp. When I first bought one, I fell in love with the pins too, and couldnt find replacements. They do sell the pins separately now, too. Two more pluses to this contraption: you can turn it upside down and wave it close to the ground or your table to pick up dropped stray pins without needing to search. They get picked right up. I keep my small sewing awl on here as well, and it has become slightly magnetized. I put the tip against the ball end of the pins as I get to them while sewing on a machine. They slide right out sticking to the awl, ready to be dropped back onto the pin cushion. Word to the wise: dont drop the pincushion. The magnet inside mine broke in half when I did and it was never quite the same.

20-11-2024Wanted to try this magnetic pin cushion & was pleasantly surprised.have arthritis in my fingers but grabbing pins from this is easier than a regular pin cushion. Would buy again and recommend it for those who sew.

> 3 dayI like the magnet pincushion. It is strong enough to hold on to the pins. You can even knock it off the table and the pins stay stuck to it. It comes in different colors. The only disappointment I had is that the pins included with it are poor quality. Be prepared to purchase better pins. The magnet pincushion alone is worth the price I paid. Happy that I bought it.

> 3 dayI received this pin holder last night and just started using it this morning. Oh, my! It is good! The magnet seems to be strong and holds my pins down flat, all going in one direction, which makes picking them up easier. I have another brand of magnet pin holder that is frustrating because it makes the pins fan out and stand up in different directions. My fingers are always getting stuck. The tray is small, only about 3 1/2 diameter, but it holds a good amount of pins. Plan to order another one.

> 3 dayI bought this magnetic pin holder because I have dogs that are always sitting at my feet while I sew and I didnt want them to get a dropped pin by mistake. It came quickly and well packaged. It certainly is heavier than I expected and the magnet is strong. I love the peace of mind knowing my pins are all accounted for. As a plus, the pins it comes with are actually pretty good too.
