Adults and kids (old enough to understand bidding and trumps) will be raising a pirate ruckus after a hand or two. The cards are large, and have wonderful pirate characters including the pirate king himself. Playing cards with your kids is a perfect way to pry them away from the television or video games. Family conversations have been had over a good hand of cards at a bridge table through the years, but Skull King is way more fun. Throw the perfect pirate party with pirate themed foods, mugs of pirate ginger ale and a chest of pirate booty from which winners can draw a prize.. Lay down a short board and have the losers walk the plank (to test their balance), Grandpa Becks card game is just a springboard to the fun that is awaiting for your family and friends. One of my familie’s favorite games. My youngest, 6 is a master at it! Definitely an enjoyable game (though watch out, stress can get high! Haha)

This is my 2nd purchase of Skull King! We love it so much we want a back up copy. We have most of Grandpa Beck’s games but this one is by far our favorite!

Have played this game many times and still enjoy it. This has become one of our families favorite go to games since everyone loves to play. Doesnt take long to get the hang of it if youve played other trick taking games. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite small game and my favorite 8 player game. It is very hard to find a game for $15 that will play 8 people and not have it being a party game. This game still has strategy and is a ton of fun

We are a game playing family. We have never heard of this game before, but received it for Christmas. We stayed up till 1am playing Christmas night. We just had to finish the ten rounds. We were having too much fun. Every round or Trick is a complete surprise. You may think you have bad cards and end up winning every Trick. When that happens, we have never had so much fun Scheming and Skulking to LOSE in order to keep our bids. It is a very unpredictable game and keeps you on your toes. Once we got the lingo down, it was exciting and ever changing. Keep your Scheming or bids sensible, cause you do not know your other mates hands. In each trick, you Skulk or strategize to win or lose to keep your Schemes. Yo Ho Ho and bottle of rum to ya mates! (youll understand once you play)

We are a family of avid board gamers. We have a ton of games between different families. I got this game for my birthday and for the last couple months we have played it quite often. Everyone who has tried it enjoys it. Easy enough to learn after one game. If you have ever played spades it makes it that much easier but definitely not necessary. My mother had never played and picked up the game quickly. I also like the fact that it is a smaller box to store. We enjoy Cover Your Assets also by this company and will explore their other games. Hours and hours of bonding fun.
