One person plays a pirate, but the next wins with the Skull King! But wait, the mermaid beats the skull king! And the last player blows it all with the kraken! Easy to figure out because it has reference cards for each player until you have it down. We played with teenagers, but I think young kids would like this too. They just need to know if an 11 or a 14 is larger, and can use the pictures for what beats what. Highly recommend! A+

Xmas gift that my daughter’s family plays nightly! Fun for all ages!

This is a super fun game. It favors strategic minds in that both low numbers and high numbers can win you points depending how you use them. While the rules are EXTREMELY clear and detailed (with examples listed), there are several tricky rules that are hard when first learning, but you quickly learn them after a round or two. It includes a small expansion pack that simply throws a wrench into the original game. I have played the game with 2, 4, and 6 people and it was super fun in all cases. The game also has suggested means to be really short or fairly long. Usually, I only set it up to play for about 10 minutes and end up playing several times cause it is really fun.

Although the box was shrink wrapped upon receipt, upon opening it i was surprised to find that several cards were missing (black 12&13) and a handful of cards were even torn!?

Great family game. We play it all the time. Adults and kids aged 8 through 13. Addictive and fun. We bought it after buying, playing, and enjoying Cover Your Assets by the same maker.
