After seeing a few supposed deals on speaker wire, this came on my radar. The reviews looked good. I trimmed off one end with a good wire cutter and took a good look with a magnifier. Yes, it is real copper. I checked its size with a 30 amp (12 gauge) Powerpole terminal, and it fits exactly. The strands are just right for going in without fighting. I have used the red/black Radio Shack zip cord over many years, and the insulation on this wire seems to be at least equal, if not better. I have not tested it for heat resistance.

Great thing to throw in the toolbox and just have if you do car accessories every now and then.

TRUE!!!! Perfect for car audio! Im using this to run two 12 Rockford Fosgate P3D2 subwoofers on an Hifonics Zeus 1200 mono block amplifier. Its pretty hard to find real, true OFC pure copper wire. But look no further! This wire is awesome! It comes in almost any Guage/length you need and is perfect for car systems. I will definitely buy again!

This is good quality wire. Insulation is thick, wire is fairly flexible and easy to route through holes etc. The conductors are high quality. The wire is not what I expected so I gave it 4 stars. I know, not fair since its my expectation that made me take one star off. The insulation on the wire is some sort of double layer. The black and red material is coated on the outside with a clear insulation. Im not sure of the purpose of this dual layer but it still works. Warning, something I learned the hard way. I had to solder this wire onto a connector and the insulation melted easily. When you are soldering 12 gauge wire you have to apply a fair amount of heat to get the solder flowing and the insulation started to sag right off the wire. I tried it again at a lower temperature (on the soldering iron) and was able to complete the solder connection without losing the insulation off of it. If you are using only crimp connections (which the rest of mine were) then this is great stuff.

Excellent conductors to link my Onkyo TX RZ50 to my Klipsch RP8000ii towers and Klipsch subs

Great 12gauge cable. I I have 6ft runs to each of my fronts. They are true to specifcation. They terminate very easyily into my plugs and sound really nice compared to mediabrodge and monoproce 12awg ofc. Def very impressed. I bought it a few months ago and they sound the same.. Yesterday, I did change my plugs over to spades and there is no sign of coloration and blackening around the copper and still look and sound grewt. In the duture will consider perhaps purchasing their 10awg or stay w/ the 12. Def recommend! Great product no difference where it is manufactured.

This zip cord has honest - to - size, stranded (>30 strands) copper wire conductors. With a caliper, I measure a diameter of 0.102, and the standard nominal diameter for 12 awg is 0.104. Insulation looks good, too. Walls are certainly thick enough for low - voltage use, and even for 120VAC use, though this is not the recommended application. Outstanding value at this price!
