Honeywell VISTA-20P Ademco Control Panel, PCB in Aluminum Enclosure

had to replace a cheaper system and ordered this one. came very quickly and i was able to get it working in a couple hours, most of it was wiring. had to do some searches to get the default master code, as install doc provided was light. only not positive comment would be the picture showed the product coming with a battery and no ac adapter, it came with the ac adapter and no battery. i was prepared to buy one, so it wasnt a big deal, but picture didnt match what i received

no info on the ad as to what motion sensors will work with this CPU. I had to open the box, and panel to check for compatibility. My mistake to buy this. I will eat the cost, but I will not recommend this to anyone who asks about my home security. Out $80 bucks but its my fault. Honeywell has been a trusted name for me, not any more...is there a less then 1 star rating?

Just received this panel today (4/15/2014), and ordered from NuWave AV based off of one of the reviews below. I needed Revision 9.16 or higher to work with the keypad that I ordered. I received Revision 9.12 from them. I will be returning this immediately as it does not work with the keypad that I ordered. On top of that, the battery was shipped with it inside the panel box, and was loose during shipping. It moved around inside the box and shockingly didnt bust, but who knows how much damage it did to the panel itself. BEWARE OF ORDERING FROM NuWave AV. I will not order from them again!!!

Love it. Works as promised. Replace my old ADT Brinks panel. Just swapped this one in and that one out. Also added Envisalink. Really cool.

This is a really good do it yourself panel!(ps you will need to buy he keypad separately) It might be a little bit hard to understand how to wire it but once you get it it’s really easy! It’s also really easy to program the panel with a Honeywell 6160 keypad! I really recommend to get a 6160 keypad to program this panel because it is really hard to program with the 6150. Please! Save the money and save up for the 6160 it will help you in the longe run with programming! Also if you don’t want to run wires to sensors you can always get the Honeywell 6160rf keypad for wireless devices!

This panel is a great starter panel. Make sure you buy the alpha keypad if you plan on programing it yourself. Do your homework.

If youre installing alarm systems, you already know what this is and dont need a review. If you dont, this package is the controller with locking metal box, lock, programming manuals (essential!) and power supply. It does not come with a backup battery. I like the vista 20. Its a bit clumsy to program at first, but it works nicely and is compatible with lots of fun honeywell accessories. The only real negative is that it doesnt have all the internet and video goodies of the newer systems, but on the other hand, its a high quality, reliable Honeywell product that generally wont leave you screaming mad.
