The Hopkins Multi-tow adapter was perfect for my inventory of trailers. The kit comes with a bracket, mounting screws and the adapter with instructions. Adapter is made in Mexico. The 4 wire plug-in is hooded to keep debris out when you plug into your vehicles existing OEM 4 wire trailer adapter. My purchase was to replace an existing Hopkins adapter on a used vehicle, so I got a good idea how durable it was after being hit, bent and hit again. I gave it 5 stars because it is that good and Amazons price cant be beat. My only wish would be they make a thicker bracket because the constant stress of plugging in and unplugging bends the bracket. I saw this weakness on the previous Hopkins adapter, so I made my own bracket out of 3/16ths steel for this installation.

This is a solid adapter that will add a 7 round to your 4 flat plug. It takes a minimum of wiring, and the instructions are adequate, though I had to make use of some online resources. The materials are tough, and I am not afraid this will break at some point. The only reason that I subtracted stars was because the assembly of the adapter was not so great. The center screw on the front of the plug that holds the center wire in was practically falling out. It wasnt that noticeable, and so I spent a good deal of time trying to figure out why not all of my connections were being made.

Yep this is a good product. Go ahead and save yourself the headache and buy a brake controller right now. I should have purchased the 79.99 brake controller when I ordered this connector and in the pinch of the moment I then had to buy the exact same brake controller for 126.xx in a store to get the job done. Save yourself that 46 dollars and order a brake controller, in that regard, I would recommend a brake controller that has the custom pinch feature to truly control the trailer. The rig that I just set-up was a 2004 f250 v10 and the trailer Im preparing is a large 27 foot puma camper with bunks. This was a good 7 pin connector, plenty of wire and very easy to install in your factory spot. Sturdy aswell, NOT chinsy.

I love this adapter. Very affordable, and has many applications. I use the 7 pin connector on all my vehicles and trailers. But on the family farm almost every think still uses the 6 round, including the vehicles. Nowhere have I found a 5 pin round (vehicle end) to 7 pin blade (trailer). So I buy these and cut off the 4 pin flat (on the wire harness) and connect the wire harness to a 6 pin round vehicle connector. So now I have a 6 round to 7 blade and a bonus 4 pin flat adapter to plug into the farm vehicles so they can pull my trailers. I find that you can buy 7 blade to 4 flat, or 5 round, or 6 round adapter. But no one makes a 5 round to 7 bladed adapter. Surely Im not the one with this need..

Easy install on 95’ ram 2500 I already had 4 pin flat connector installed. So mounted the bracket to the receiver hitch and plugged it into my stock 4 pin and now I have both 7 pin and 4 pin flat. And they both have dust caps which is helpful for maintaining clean connectors

Overall, this was a great purchase. 4 to 4/7 was exactly what I needed to upgrade my vehicle. I didnt use the mounting hardware but instead drilled out the bumper to have a more polished finish. It worked great.

Installed very easily onto my existing 4-pole connector on my 1997 GMC pickup. Found a good lip under the bumper to bolt my bracket to, and made my own ground on the frame for the ground wire. Havent actually hooked it up yet, but a multi-meter shows 12V power in the correct spots when various vehicle functions occur: blinker, tails, brakes, etc.

Plugs into an existing 4-flat for lights if you have one in place, or that connector can be cut off and the wires individually spliced. The other three wires, for brakes, back-up and 12v have to be spliced. It comes with butt splices. You have to know what you’re doing. If you have a vehicle that has separate trailer light wiring and a connector underneath, like GM trucks and Suburbans, you would be much better off getting a connector made to connect to your specific brand of vehicle, and avoid splices altogether.
