This product does not fit the Curt #58140 7 pole trailer plug. The blades on this Hopkins adapter are too wide. Theyre wider than the blades on my 7 pole Chrysler wiring harness on my Dodge Magnum. Guessing this is a little gotcha thing where you need to have Hopkins adapters on both sides, car and trailer. The Curt #58140 7 pole trailer plug fits my Dodge Magnum with factory Chryslter 7 pole wiring kit fine. Update: After tweaking the blades with a screw driver and also tweaking the slots with a box opener the two pieces now fit together. Seems to me this is a quality consistency issue with the Hopkins harness as two of the blades were apparently too close together.

I was happy with the results. The bracket was okay but not perfect. The production engineers need to study the bracket install position. it was not low enough for ideal placement. I had to fabricate an extension for the wiring setup to work in front of the hitch receiver. Overall it was okay.

The hardest part is found the wiring diagram for LR3 but it work, just follow booth diagrams and its gonna take around 25 min.

Perfect fit, works good. But 7 blade cap is flimsy plastic. Doesnt seem like it will last. Also the gauge wire for the battery lead a is the same as the lighting, not as heavy as the electric brake wire. I run a heavy gauge battery wire to the trailer so I can charge not only the break-away battery, but also an on board ( camping, hydraulics or accessory) full size battery. But good price and easy install

I love this adapter. Very affordable, and has many applications. I use the 7 pin connector on all my vehicles and trailers. But on the family farm almost every think still uses the 6 round, including the vehicles. Nowhere have I found a 5 pin round (vehicle end) to 7 pin blade (trailer). So I buy these and cut off the 4 pin flat (on the wire harness) and connect the wire harness to a 6 pin round vehicle connector. So now I have a 6 round to 7 blade and a bonus 4 pin flat adapter to plug into the farm vehicles so they can pull my trailers. I find that you can buy 7 blade to 4 flat, or 5 round, or 6 round adapter. But no one makes a 5 round to 7 bladed adapter. Surely Im not the one with this need..

The Hopkins Multi-tow adapter was perfect for my inventory of trailers. The kit comes with a bracket, mounting screws and the adapter with instructions. Adapter is made in Mexico. The 4 wire plug-in is hooded to keep debris out when you plug into your vehicles existing OEM 4 wire trailer adapter. My purchase was to replace an existing Hopkins adapter on a used vehicle, so I got a good idea how durable it was after being hit, bent and hit again. I gave it 5 stars because it is that good and Amazons price cant be beat. My only wish would be they make a thicker bracket because the constant stress of plugging in and unplugging bends the bracket. I saw this weakness on the previous Hopkins adapter, so I made my own bracket out of 3/16ths steel for this installation.

Pretty good quality! It is great for the typical install, where you tow every-so-often... For professional use (plugging and unplugging daily) it would work okay for a decent amount of time but I worry that eventually the 4 screws holding the socket to the metal bracket would begin loosening, the plastic the socket is molded from is good not great. I like the layout of the receptacles. The metal bracket could stand to be a tad thicker, but it is good enough. The wires are generously sized, and I like the look of it on the vehicle. Would definitely recommend.

I too fell victim to the suggested mounting bracket. I didnt read any of the reviews since I knew I wanted Hopkins products for my tow vehicle. This kit already includes the bracket with it. I too wont be returning the >$5 bracket since shipping alone will be about that much, but that is not Hoppys fault. This is a slam dunk for trailer hookup. No more need to carry the 7 pole to 4 flat adapter (greasy item rolling around in glove box). The holes in the included mounting bracket matched up perfectly to the pre-drilled holes in the Reese hitch I purchased at the same time. This along with the Hopkins/Hoppy t-connector trailer wiring kit just reached to allow me to make all of my connections without any extra splicing. Pack the 4-flat connectors with contact grease and zip-tie the two connectors together. Wiring doesnt get any easier.

Received the Hopkins 47185 kit on time and in factory packaging. Nice that has both the 4 Pin and the 7 Pin Flat connectors. Just mounted the bracket and then place the connector unit into it with the supplied screws. The crimp connectors were already on each of the wires, so just matched the colors to the factory wires and crimped them on. Works great, put a little bit of grease on each pin and taped over each wire to seal moisture out.
