> 3 dayIve only had the monitor for a short time, so maybe reliability could become an issue, but this is an amazing visual experience. I mostly watch old TV shows and movies so the color isnt as critical as it might be to some, but the color quality on 30 year old movies is excellent. What I cant believe is the clarity of watching old shows like Perry Mason and Dick Van Dyke. Extremely pleased. I should also comment on the volume control, as I struggled to understand it. This was part of a review written by Lindguini, so Im plagiarizing: HOW TO FIX LOW VOLUME SOUND: The built-in speakers are better than some reviewers indicate. I believe most people dont discover that the monitor menu has its own volume control thats set to 50% volume by factory default. If you just connect this monitor to the PC youll automatically get sound through the HP speakers via HDMI or DisplayPort (you only have to use the separate audio cable when using the VGA input). But no matter how high you turn up your PC volume control, youll only get 50% volume from the monitors speakers which is why people complain about low volume. To fix this, all you need to do is go to the Management tab of the monitor menu, select Audio, and then turn up the volume control from 50 (default) to 100 and youll find the monitor speakers are plenty loud. After that, youll only have to use your PC volume control as normal.

> 3 dayJust got the HP 24mh yesterday, but it has impressed me so much I had to give a review now, but will edit if I run into any problems later. Very nice picture quality, and there are a lot of adjustments that can be made to make it more to your liking. The stand is awesome, best monitor stand Ive ever had. My last two monitors have been Asus, and was planning on getting another Asus, but I seen so many people saying how much they liked this HP, thought Id give it a try. My last monitor was a Asus vs239h-P 23 60mhz., which was a fine monitor and served me well, but was wanting something a little bigger with a 75mhz. refresh rate, and with a Displayport connector. I like the picture quality better on the HP 24mh than the Asus vs239h-P. I dont game much, but I tried a few gams, and it looked good to me, but Im sure a serious gamer would want something with higher refresh rates. They have a driver you can download for the HP 24mh at HPs website. Highly recommended! update: This is really an amazing monitor. If I get the settings just right and have a great source I can see images with this like Ive never seen before. Its that good! My past two Asus monitors were great for reliability, one I used for 4 years, and the one before that Ive had for 10 years, and still use it as a backup. Just hope the HP 24mh is this reliable. update: The built in speakers do a good job, not good for listening to music, but I never use a monitors built in speakers. Update 2-8-2023: Still a great monitor, and very glad I purchased it. For a great 1080p monitor look no further.

> 3 dayThis is from my Son.. Hello, Update: I really dont like the back speakers. Ive upped the volume in the button prefs, but I wont be buying another Monitor where theyre in the back. The colors are fantastic. If I use the DisplayPort, when switching to a game I discovered I have to press the power button on the monitor, let the light go out and press it again to turn on again. The has returned! If I exit a game, and go back to Desktop, I usually have to repeat that process. Using HDMI...zero problems. I have an odd setup, and I wanted to keep the Motherboard Stereo vs GeForce 780s HDMI sound. But the Monitor kept switching back to HDMI for both every time I turned it off, then later on again. I then had to go into Monitor settings and change it again. I, honestly, forgot that my nVIDIA board has HDMI in the video hardware. Otherwise, this Monitor is doing everything is should and doing it well. Since nothing is perfect (done, complete, cannot be added to...final). I would suggest that HP rethinks where the speakers are located. Id prefer them to be in the front. You loose some decibels when theyre in the back. If youre in an Apartment, having the speakers in the back could be less helpful (which I am). Im considering doing a cheap fix, route the sound to the sides...to the front. Otherwise, I really dig this Monitor. Windows 7 looks / sounds great with it. Yep, I still adore that version of Windows. 10, horrible GUI, 11...is a little better. I had to install Realteks HD Audio driver for all 3 OSes to get the PC Speakers to function. Once I remembered the nVIDIA has HDMI, I bought a DVI to HDMI..and went that way. I also disabled the Autio-Switch before doing that. They have the good fine-tuning controls which makes things sweet. Only problem is...it doesnt save (remember) settings. So thats something they might consider looking into...for oddballs. HA! I havent been a fan of HP in many years since their products have become cheap and unreliable for many years. Before then, they were a GREAT brand. Since the new printer with the long lasting Ink was released, and my Mother loves it, and since Im her Tech, Ive used it often and its doing better than 2 other versions of Printers. So, after checking the reviews here...I thought Id go ahead and give this a go. Ill check back later and update after some months.

> 3 dayI bought one of these and connected it to my laptop running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. It worked very well until a vertical streak appeared on the screen (it was till usable but not very aesthetic). It was covered under warranty, and they shipped a box to put it in for shipping, and I didnt have to pay anything for repair or shipping, but of course there was time involved in dealing with HP Support, packing the monitor, etc. I assume the problem was a fluke, and I bought another one for my Windows 10 laptop. So far so good, as long as the 2nd monitor doesnt develop a problem. These monitors are the perfect size for my desk, and they make my job as a software consultant much easier.

> 3 dayEverything is great including the built-in speaker but there are few lighting spots on the bottom of the screen which are annoying noticeable when using dark theme and watching movies/videos.

> 3 dayI bought two of these, and they have been great. I like the input options, and that the monitors have speakers. Im no audiophile, so having simple speakers included in the monitors meant I could have one less item on my desk. I put these on the Mount it! dual VESA mount (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BW739D2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which was super easy. The monitors came with a very nice, sturdy, flat-base (So you dont totally lose that desk space!!) stand, but I opted for the mount. The monitors also came with VESA screws already installed, so mounting them just required removal of the screws and reinstallation of the screws with the VESA mount plate. Also, I have been working from home, and had one these hooked up to both my personal computer and my work computer. Switching inputs was easy using the hard-key buttons hidden on the bottom-right of the monitor body. And as simple as it is, these came with an HDMI an power cable which were 6ft long each, which was nice. NOTE: The listing says 75hz refresh rate, but that is with DisplayPort cables. As I write this, these are running at 60hz on the included HDMI cables. This doesnt matter at all to me, because I dont play games on them, but FYI! I shop around pretty extensively before making purchases, and I feel confident that these are a good value (obviously, since I bought them). $110 for a brand-name, 1080p, 60/75hz IPS monitor with speakers, VESA mount-reay but comes with a good stand, and has good input options (HDMI, DP, or VGA). Now that Ive owned them for a few weeks, I would absolutely purchase them again next time.

> 3 dayI believe this monitor model precedes the Windows 11 launch. It worked very well with my Dell business lap-top running Windows 10: great picture, adjustable stand. However, when connecting to my home Dell PC running Windows 11, my desktop functionality was limited. I had all of my desktop short-cuts and they worked, but all of the icons and functionality on the lower taskbar were missing, including the Start button. There were other issues also. I checked the HP website for any monitor drivers and found that none were available for Windows 11 (only Windows 10) with a note that if the OS driver was not available, then the monitor may not be compatible. I then switched back to the old monitor, re-booted, and the same errors occurred and appeared to be permanent. Possibly, the monitor installed some plug and play software that corrupted the Windows 11 files. This was the conclusion reached by the Dell techs helping. After a couple hours of troubleshooting, we had to re-install Windows 11 to get it back working. Ive returned the monitor and am looking for a newer model.
