Over the past 5 years, I have never ran into any problems with this brand. It delivers what it promises and It dissolves fairly quickly in the water. I have a 20 gallon tank and it takes half a bag to fill my tank. A full bag carries enough salt for a 50 gallon tank.

I used to go to the Jersey shore a lot. I would navigate my way gingerly across the sand, trying to pick out a spot on the beach where I could lay my towel without being surrounded by discarded junk. A few years ago, I was able to relax there for a only few minutes before some muscle-head kicked sand on my face and stole my girl. I applied for one of those correspondence martial arts courses, and the next year I went back and confronted that same muscle-head with my new-found skills. This time, my ex-girlfriend held me down while he pummeled me. I would never waste my money on one of those correspondence martial arts courses again. This sea salt lets me mix up some ocean water for my pets without having to risk seeing that muscle-head or my bully ex-girlfriend at the beach. For that, its priceless. However, be warned: seagulls and beach pollution not included.

Great value for the money! We use this for our saltwater pool in our hermit crab tank. We use 1 Tbs at a time since the pool is the minimum size recommended of a 2 cup capacity. This brand is highly recommended from all of the crab groups we are in. It has lasted for months and we are only half way through it. Will definitely be ordering more at the end of Summer.

You cant beat the price if youve got a sizable aquarium and do water changes regularly. This is the second case we have purchased for water changes and lately I have been the one maintaining our new 150 tank. Clean 5 gallon buckets, RO/DI that has had a chance to degas over a couple days and 2 level cups puts us right around a specific gravity of 1.021 fairly consistently. However with the new bags I did notice after agitation via a power head two out of five buckets (total of 10 scoops) had a piece or two or black debris. Did not investigate further but know it was not from the power head as it was freshly cleaned before mixing. I suggest sifting as you pour into your salt storage container to prevent any debris contamination from getting in your tank and possibly damaging the impeller on the return pump (if running a sump).

Always use this product and had no issues with this. The last purchased item showed some crystallization of salt powder and the particle was mm size. Keep on using this condition, I see no negative effect but need a little more mixing time

    Greater than one week

With the Red Tide threat in the Gulf Coast of Florida this is the perfect substitute for my salt water aquarium. I have never had a problem.

This is a great product with the correct salinity. This is an absolute necessity if you have hermit crabs. We did not know this was necessary in our tank and our crabs went several months without it. We added it to their sand/substrate and put a dish of it in their tank. The substrate needs to be approximately 6 to 8 inches deep (or 3 to 4 times the height of your largest crabs shell) and should be Sandcastle consistency. We added approximately 1 gallon of salt water to accomplish this. The crabs spent about one week exploring the new sand and soaking in the salt water. Then they finally tunneled down for their first molt. This probably saved their lives. If hermit crabs cannot molt, they cannot survive. For more information on this I recommend a website called hermitcrabpatch.com. The information the pet stores give and the information thats generally available is completely wrong and is very unhealthy and often fatal for hermit crabs I highly recommend this product to anyone with hermit crabs.
