> 3 daySome reef tank owners may disagree with my conclusion but after many years of owning reef tanks and FOWLRs - and having tried most of the products available - I sincerely believe this salt is the best overall value for the average salt water aquarium enthusiast. For FOWLR tanks there isnt a better salt available. For reef tanks there are better products available (Red Sea Coral Pro most notably) but the cost of those products is not reflected in the quality. Whatever salt you buy you still need to supplement - calcium, buffers, trace elements, etc., etc. - and yes you need to supplement a little more with this salt but when you total up the overall costs this salt proves to be the best value by far. I have never had an issue with this salt - mixes quick (15 minutes using a powerhead) and clear.

> 3 dayYou cant beat the price if youve got a sizable aquarium and do water changes regularly. This is the second case we have purchased for water changes and lately I have been the one maintaining our new 150 tank. Clean 5 gallon buckets, RO/DI that has had a chance to degas over a couple days and 2 level cups puts us right around a specific gravity of 1.021 fairly consistently. However with the new bags I did notice after agitation via a power head two out of five buckets (total of 10 scoops) had a piece or two or black debris. Did not investigate further but know it was not from the power head as it was freshly cleaned before mixing. I suggest sifting as you pour into your salt storage container to prevent any debris contamination from getting in your tank and possibly damaging the impeller on the return pump (if running a sump).

> 3 dayWonderful for jellyfish! Don’t waste money on mini packets of special Marine salt! Just use 1/2 cup per gallon of distilled water for your water changes. Specific gravity and pH are wonderful and I’ve been using this for months and the jellies are thriving!

> 3 dayI have used this last for the past 8 years but something fishy with this last bag i used. eveything started to close off. 3 months of using it since i only have to do 5 gallon at a time. a fellow reffer Told me to switch off to another brand and see if theres any improvement. All my water premature were a little off but after using a different salt Everything is starting to open up again. Ive never complain about the soul since I had amazing results but this comes in and when you start losing everything in the tank.

> 3 dayIs it the best salt out there, no. Is it the best salt out there in this price range, heck yes. I have used instant ocean sea salt since 2010 and it has not let me down. Always mix your salt water separate from your tank test it before you do a water change. It’s that easy. This product will deliver the right salt and mineral quantities every time.

> 3 dayThe product, instant ocean, is great. I use it in my live shrimp tank. I sometimes keep over 1000 shrimp, and the instant ocean does the trick. My problem is I mistakenly ordered it from Amazon on there recurring delivery. This means you get the product every month. I decided to cancel this order after 3 months. The cancel option only cancels for one month, and then you start getting the product again. Amazon, how do I cancel recurring delivery?!?!
