> 3 dayI have used so many salts over the years I have forgotten some of the ones that Ive used. I used stuff that ran me $120 for a Tall 5 gallon bucket (probably like 7.5 gallons) that was lab certified to be this or that. I started to realize that I kept buying different salt every time it was time to buy salt, one thing I have learned is that consistency does pay off. I dont know if this is the best salt in the world, but Im sticking with it. It is economical, it dissolves easily, my water parameters test good with it. I run a mixed reef with it and corals are doing their thing, fish are swimming, and everyone seems happy.

> 3 dayThe salt dissolved quickly as stated on the box. The reason I did not give five stars is the box was already open and the top was ripped open with part of the top not even all there. The salt is five stars, but I deducted one star which in my view is Amazons bad for shipping a box that was probably a return. fortunately, the salt was still sealed in the plastic bag that contained the salt.

> 3 dayI wanted something consistent and cheap for hatching brine shrimp. This product worked fine for my purpose. 1 tablespoon per litre and Im done. should last me at least a year before I need a refill. Feels slightly wet, but it doesnt affect my purpose.

> 3 dayYou cant beat the price if youve got a sizable aquarium and do water changes regularly. This is the second case we have purchased for water changes and lately I have been the one maintaining our new 150 tank. Clean 5 gallon buckets, RO/DI that has had a chance to degas over a couple days and 2 level cups puts us right around a specific gravity of 1.021 fairly consistently. However with the new bags I did notice after agitation via a power head two out of five buckets (total of 10 scoops) had a piece or two or black debris. Did not investigate further but know it was not from the power head as it was freshly cleaned before mixing. I suggest sifting as you pour into your salt storage container to prevent any debris contamination from getting in your tank and possibly damaging the impeller on the return pump (if running a sump).

Greater than one weekI used 1 scoop of this for approximately 4 gallons of water (almost full 5 gallon bucket) for a brackish water tank and this salt works great. I would pour the salt in roughly when the bucket was halfway so I could swirl it around easily and then by the time the bucket was 4/5ths full then the salt was usually dissolved enough. With a capful of primer and the water was ready to dump. I never found a need to wait a certain amount of time and it never seemed to bother the fish. In fact the fish usually swam to the water as I poured it in.

> 3 daySome reef tank owners may disagree with my conclusion but after many years of owning reef tanks and FOWLRs - and having tried most of the products available - I sincerely believe this salt is the best overall value for the average salt water aquarium enthusiast. For FOWLR tanks there isnt a better salt available. For reef tanks there are better products available (Red Sea Coral Pro most notably) but the cost of those products is not reflected in the quality. Whatever salt you buy you still need to supplement - calcium, buffers, trace elements, etc., etc. - and yes you need to supplement a little more with this salt but when you total up the overall costs this salt proves to be the best value by far. I have never had an issue with this salt - mixes quick (15 minutes using a powerhead) and clear.

> 3 dayThis is a great salt. It dissolves quickly and gives my tank the right ph. My clown loves it. I have a 10g and these bags last for about 6 months (I do a 20% water change every week). Make sure to seal and keep airtight once open because it will clump together. It will still dissolve this way but perhaps less easily. The packaging recommends 1/2 cup per gallon to achieve 1.022 salinity. This is pretty on point.
