> 3 dayI specifically bought this to use for hatching baby brine shrimps and my bbs have been hatching very well and consistently. I’m sure half of it has to do with the bbs eggs I’m using also, but the hatch rate has been 10x better than my past experience when I was using freshwater aquarium salt. This almost will last me an extremely long time!

Greater than one weekYou cant beat the price if youve got a sizable aquarium and do water changes regularly. This is the second case we have purchased for water changes and lately I have been the one maintaining our new 150 tank. Clean 5 gallon buckets, RO/DI that has had a chance to degas over a couple days and 2 level cups puts us right around a specific gravity of 1.021 fairly consistently. However with the new bags I did notice after agitation via a power head two out of five buckets (total of 10 scoops) had a piece or two or black debris. Did not investigate further but know it was not from the power head as it was freshly cleaned before mixing. I suggest sifting as you pour into your salt storage container to prevent any debris contamination from getting in your tank and possibly damaging the impeller on the return pump (if running a sump).

Greater than one weekGreat for fish only tanks. May be obvious to some but I learned the hard way that this salt doesn’t have nearly enough calcium or magnesium for a reef tank or to sustain coralline algae. Switch to reef crystals :)

> 3 dayI do water changes, 4 gallons a week. For some reason, its never on par with the directions. I have to do 2 1/2 cups to get it to 1.025. But Ive been using Instant Ocean for years and never had salinity shock.

> 3 dayThe salt dissolved quickly as stated on the box. The reason I did not give five stars is the box was already open and the top was ripped open with part of the top not even all there. The salt is five stars, but I deducted one star which in my view is Amazons bad for shipping a box that was probably a return. fortunately, the salt was still sealed in the plastic bag that contained the salt.

> 3 dayThis salt mix has been around since the beginning of time. It is affordable, mixes up easily and quickly with no reside in the container, and it is consistent. I have used this in fish only systems along with reef setups. It works equally well with both. If you have a soft coral or LPS tank there is really no need to be using more expensive salt mixes. Unless you have a lot of LPS and SPS corals, at which point it does not matter what salt mix you buy because you will be dosing daily or weekly anyway. The best deal is the 200 gallon box when it is on sale for $40, and if you have prime it ships for free. How much better can a deal get?

Greater than one weekHi, did extensive research before deciding on Instant Ocean. It has all the correct amounts of minerals and trace elements. Best price by far. My fish have lived long and happy with this product. Highly recommend it. Please stay safe and healthy
