Greater than one weekI like using this salt for my tank. Been using it for years, and Ive never had an issue. I dont like the smaller plastic bags vs the tub, but I guess its easier to ship.

Greater than one weekGreat for fish only tanks. May be obvious to some but I learned the hard way that this salt doesn’t have nearly enough calcium or magnesium for a reef tank or to sustain coralline algae. Switch to reef crystals :)

> 3 dayBased on my mixing it seemed to come up short of 50 gallons. Specific gravity is lower than should be. Now I get the fun chore of trying raise it little by little by little as not to waste what I made then start playing the little by little of RO. May have been me. Who knows?

> 3 dayDissolves easily but do not use chlorinated water directly from tap. Allow chlorine to dissipate over night before adding salt.

> 3 dayThis salt mix has been around since the beginning of time. It is affordable, mixes up easily and quickly with no reside in the container, and it is consistent. I have used this in fish only systems along with reef setups. It works equally well with both. If you have a soft coral or LPS tank there is really no need to be using more expensive salt mixes. Unless you have a lot of LPS and SPS corals, at which point it does not matter what salt mix you buy because you will be dosing daily or weekly anyway. The best deal is the 200 gallon box when it is on sale for $40, and if you have prime it ships for free. How much better can a deal get?

Greater than one weekI have used so many salts over the years I have forgotten some of the ones that Ive used. I used stuff that ran me $120 for a Tall 5 gallon bucket (probably like 7.5 gallons) that was lab certified to be this or that. I started to realize that I kept buying different salt every time it was time to buy salt, one thing I have learned is that consistency does pay off. I dont know if this is the best salt in the world, but Im sticking with it. It is economical, it dissolves easily, my water parameters test good with it. I run a mixed reef with it and corals are doing their thing, fish are swimming, and everyone seems happy.

Greater than one weekI specifically bought this to use for hatching baby brine shrimps and my bbs have been hatching very well and consistently. I’m sure half of it has to do with the bbs eggs I’m using also, but the hatch rate has been 10x better than my past experience when I was using freshwater aquarium salt. This almost will last me an extremely long time!
