iolo - System Mechanic, Fix & Speed Up Your PC Automatically With Award Winning Software Solution

I got this with my new pc a year and half ago and it was doing great until recently. As of version 11.7.1 and now, version 12.0, it produces a popup error that for some reason they arent able to resolve. Ive spoken to the iolo tech support which has some of the laziest people Ive ever dealt with working for them. Their sole answer for everything is to uninstall & reinstall; no matter how many times youve done that already. They said the issue would be resolved with version 12 but that hasnt happened so I cant recommend this product. Im very disappointed as this program has done a lot of good over the time Ive owned it but with their last two releases I cant say that anymore.

I had used System Mechanic some years ago but had switched to Norton 360. Setting up a new machine, I reassessed what I wanted/needed. I put in Norton Internet Security, Microsoft Windows backup, and System Mechanic. System Mechanic has been more thorough and effective than Norton 360 in terms of maintenance.

I have been using Sys Mech for well over 5 years. I usually renew my license ahead of time and was paid up thru Jan of 2025. My PC is about 5 years old and it has been really slow and cumbersome. I have high speed internet and it takes forever to load pages. I just figured it was an old PC. Recently Sys Mech blocked one of my system files and said it was a virus. Now several of my programs will not function. That file was required for them to work. The people at the help number said I needed to have their Tech service at $20 a month to assist me. REALLY? So they basically said without that service, they couldnt help. The last time I renewed for one year, they apparently automatically signed me up for that service. I had to go thru my credit card company to remove that first charge and cancel that service. So now what? I uninstalled Sys Mech and reloaded Win 10 and holy cow, My PC now flys like the Concord. Webpages load almost instantaneously, the PC is faster then I can ever remember. ALL OF MY ISSUES seemed to have been caused by this program. SO YES ... BEWARE. Look for Google reviews about problems and fraud complaints about this company. They USED to be good. (NOTE: 3 years of prepaid licensing to 2025 is down the tubes)

Whenever my computer slows down, I know it needs a good clean out. In about five minutes sister Mechanic does that for me. Love it!

It seems to be dong its job well. I will renew when it comes due.

It dose work as advertised. But make sure to create a restore point as it messed up one computer but the restore point brought it back. It has some user choices and I must have deleted a file the it said I did not need. Good produce

I bought this tune-up software for my two computers. The laptop computer had some essential files removed when I started the program. The computer would no longer boot. Upon a trip to Best Buy, the Advanced Technician found that some files been deleted files had the computer had to be formatted, windows 10 reinstalled and all personal files and software were lost. This repair costed me over $200!! Now that the laptop runs fine!

On more than one occasion this software, over time, removed critical files that caused me to wipe the laptop and start over to regain critical operating files. Every single version of this software (since v10-12) removes critical files - such as system restore points (even those manually created) to restore your system in the event of a failure. If you also use Norton (ID safe or other Symantec products), this software uninstalls the temp files, updates, and backed up files. This software occasionally changes the properties of files - such as the print spooler -- by uninstalling or relegating it to a status where it doesnt start. You will have to manually go in and change that status back to proper start group. It also removes critical extension files of your downloaded software by deeming them irrelevant or space-wasting files. The software does help bring your system connectivity back to optimal speed with efficiency. Its just too aggressive and error-prone when it comes to assessing the actual files it ought to support rather than remove/alter. Needs better algorithms.

Iolo will lure you into believing you have purchased a computer maintenance package that you can use for a one year term when it actually will begin billing your credit card monthly. I totally did not expect this! It also opens your computer and email up to a barrage of offers for additional services not included in the original package. Im very very disappointed in the ethics of this company and will never associate with them again.
