> 3 dayI had used System Mechanic some years ago but had switched to Norton 360. Setting up a new machine, I reassessed what I wanted/needed. I put in Norton Internet Security, Microsoft Windows backup, and System Mechanic. System Mechanic has been more thorough and effective than Norton 360 in terms of maintenance.

> 3 dayI have used System Mechanic for years and have been very happy with it. However, after purchasing the latest version and installing it on my Windows 10 PC, it corrupted my Windows OS, making my PC useless. Their technician said I would have to reload the factory OS, which would erase all of my files. Not being able to log into Windows, I went to the Microsoft website for assistance, where I learned that there are issues with System Mechanic and Windows 10. I spent a lot of time resolving the issues it created, and when I finally got Windows 10 re-installed, I discarded System Mechanic PERMANENTLY. No more System Mechanic for me!

> 3 dayI installed this software on two computers. On one computer it worked OK. However, there was no noticable computer speed increase. On a second computer, it was a disaster. While the advertising touts speeding up a computer, the actual result was the opposite. The computer barely worked. It took a considerable amount of time to restore the computer to its former self. The program appears to make so many changes to your computer that it most likely alters something important. Consequently, it looks like the effectiveness of the program is computer dependent. On the other hand, I have had much better success with the Tune Up Utilities Program. It provides the option of a One Click tuneup or a more detailed hands on system.

> 3 dayRuntime errors trying to install. Then when I tried to get help with customer care on the website, no luck. I will chalk this purchase up as foolishness on my part.
