I purchased this directly from Dell, I put a customer service ticket in and was told I would get a response in 24 hours. It has been over 13 days. No response. Trying to call support and you are left on a dead line for over an hour. Had to give up. Without support, any software package is useless. Sorry I purchased this, it seems to run good but when you have a problem your out of luck.

On more than one occasion this software, over time, removed critical files that caused me to wipe the laptop and start over to regain critical operating files. Every single version of this software (since v10-12) removes critical files - such as system restore points (even those manually created) to restore your system in the event of a failure. If you also use Norton (ID safe or other Symantec products), this software uninstalls the temp files, updates, and backed up files. This software occasionally changes the properties of files - such as the print spooler -- by uninstalling or relegating it to a status where it doesnt start. You will have to manually go in and change that status back to proper start group. It also removes critical extension files of your downloaded software by deeming them irrelevant or space-wasting files. The software does help bring your system connectivity back to optimal speed with efficiency. Its just too aggressive and error-prone when it comes to assessing the actual files it ought to support rather than remove/alter. Needs better algorithms.

When I first ran the CD program it found about 7000 problems (mostly junk files). I updated the software and then it was finding something like 40,000 problems. Sounds great! So I snapshoted the free disk space and had it remove all those junk files. Guess what - it didnt free up any disk space??!!

Customer loyalty is very impressive with the discounts offered, I had bought system mechanics at OfficeMax on sale for 29.95 because my SystemSuite had already been used on 5 computers(actually all the same one, just 5 re-installations after system failure), and the unlimited CPU installation was a huge buying factor for me, as well as the product looked superior..and it is.The updated driver search is a plus, the software redundancies feature as well as the duplicate file cleaner, and the memory deep defrag are my favorites. If the Pro Version is ever offered as an upgrade I would buy in a heartbeat, it was my family, but not having included anti-virus or anti-malware software was a bummer, also if there were any complaints I had about System Mechanics would be that although I put them as a plus, Ive had about 3 versions of Nero as well as two other DVD burner programs and software redundancies has never listed them in the search, the dulicate file searcher while it does work, its interface is poor and deleting duplicates is a very tedious way of execution compared to even free duplicate cleaners. Also my laptop running win 7 ultimate 64 with 3gb ram will always hit the blue screen of death if I ever run the program accelorator/ turn off unsused programs, yet on my desktop running xp sp3 64 with also 3gb ram will react just fine to that feature. All in all I give your product a 9.5/10 or 4 and 1/2 out of 5 stars. I havent tried too many optimizers maybe 4 total and yours reigns supreme. If only I had the professional version Id be set. Since I paid $30 in store, and then $15 right now, and that the pro is $60 in the store, if you offered it for an addition $30 as a loyalty promotion I would pay it. Just one customers suggestion. Otherwise great product. Thanks!

Ive used System Mechanic before and really liked it. But the last update includes PHOENIX 360 which deletes all browser passwords, even when the user unchecks the appropriate boxes to prevent this from happening. I emailed IOLO Dec 25, received a case number from them, then nothing. No response. Called them today, Jan 10. On hold over 25 minutes then the phone line was disconnected. Checked the LA BBB office and see they have many complaints about customer service and the product. Until PHOENIX is fixed, do not use this product. By the way, I cant get anyone to authorize a refund, so I am out some money. Save yours. Dont buy IOLO System Mechanic

I ORDERED THIS PRODUCT WITH THE UNDERSTANDING IT WAS A CD NOT A CARD WITH THE ACTIVATION CODE. I RETURNED THE PRODUCT PER INSTRUCTIONS FROM IOLO. WHAT A SURPRISE WHEN MY REFUND TOTALED $3 95. NOT THE FULL AMOUNT OF $42 95. IT CAME TO A 100% STOCKING FEE . A GREAT LADY AT AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS ABLE TO REFUND THE FULL AMOUNT. I CURRENTLY HAVE THE PROGRAM INSTALLED ON ALL MY COMPUTERS . I LOOK FORWARD TO DELETING THE PROGRAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. NO MORE IOLO FOR ME.

I bought this because I was led to believe Id receive a CD. Instead, all that was in the box was a piece of cardboard with a long number on it.
