My old Dell desk top with XP was just too slow to be useful. It was just too frustrating to use so I bought a new lap top. I have so much files and music on my desk top and really I was ready to take it to Staples to fix it AGAIN...but I saw this program. I figured better than spending about $200 to fix it. Best thing I did for my desk top computer for the cost...I did a total clean up and wow was I surprised how well my computer worked. I would say my PC is not perfect and I have to clean it up every few days, along with my virus scan but it was way worth the price. I can use it again on a regular basis. Just run the System Mechanic Total Care at night and Norton Scan and its good to go. One thing is you have to run it as the administrator if you have that on your system. Its not hard to learn. The application works as I had hoped. It performs an analysis of my computer and provides me with options for removal of unwanted files to improve the performance of my system. I like it.

Iolo will lure you into believing you have purchased a computer maintenance package that you can use for a one year term when it actually will begin billing your credit card monthly. I totally did not expect this! It also opens your computer and email up to a barrage of offers for additional services not included in the original package. Im very very disappointed in the ethics of this company and will never associate with them again.

Runtime errors trying to install. Then when I tried to get help with customer care on the website, no luck. I will chalk this purchase up as foolishness on my part.

I bought this because I was led to believe Id receive a CD. Instead, all that was in the box was a piece of cardboard with a long number on it.

I ORDERED THIS PRODUCT WITH THE UNDERSTANDING IT WAS A CD NOT A CARD WITH THE ACTIVATION CODE. I RETURNED THE PRODUCT PER INSTRUCTIONS FROM IOLO. WHAT A SURPRISE WHEN MY REFUND TOTALED $3 95. NOT THE FULL AMOUNT OF $42 95. IT CAME TO A 100% STOCKING FEE . A GREAT LADY AT AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS ABLE TO REFUND THE FULL AMOUNT. I CURRENTLY HAVE THE PROGRAM INSTALLED ON ALL MY COMPUTERS . I LOOK FORWARD TO DELETING THE PROGRAM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY. NO MORE IOLO FOR ME.

Didnt want to install on my laptop but works great on my desktop

I installed this software on two computers. On one computer it worked OK. However, there was no noticable computer speed increase. On a second computer, it was a disaster. While the advertising touts speeding up a computer, the actual result was the opposite. The computer barely worked. It took a considerable amount of time to restore the computer to its former self. The program appears to make so many changes to your computer that it most likely alters something important. Consequently, it looks like the effectiveness of the program is computer dependent. On the other hand, I have had much better success with the Tune Up Utilities Program. It provides the option of a One Click tuneup or a more detailed hands on system.

I really love System Mechanic=Unlimited PCs since it really cleans up my PC. I was tired of all the junk files and the registry needed to get fixed. I would recommend it to anyone who really needs it.
